uncoder0··on Facebook Indefinitely Suspends Trump
Good photo. I hadn't see that one yet. He's definitely armed.

I was right there with you all summer claiming a group throwing water bottles at police wasn't armed and shouldn't be beaten and shot with rubber bullets.

This is what I was looking for thanks. It does not specify that the firearm offenses were on the capitol and I know a few of them were from people marching while open carrying off the capitol grounds which is illegal under DC law.

The molotovs is a tidbit I didn't know about thankfully no one actually used them.

I see a cop get pushed over then helped up by someone in a MAGA hat. I also see some scrumming with the police which is assault. I still don't see any weapons or any use of weapons on police. This scene doesn't look all too different than scenes we've been witness to for the last 6 months since June with protestors clashing with police.

I'm just talking about what I saw if there is other evidence I'd love to see it.

He's no longer useful to them for generating traffic and user data.

You are correct the video all the platforms are using to justify the bans explicitly asked people to go home. Previously he had urged them to be peaceful which they mostly were as evidenced by the fact that no capitol staff or police were in any way injured during the incident.

edit: Leaving my comment intact as there are people who have replied. VBProgrammer pointed out that a portion of my statement is not true. This morning the DC police revealed two officers were hospitalized with injuries and one was described as having serious injuries while 12 others suffered other injuries.

I keep seeing 'armed mob' posted everywhere without any evidence. What were they armed with? I watched the whole thing live from many angles and I saw plenty of people doing dumb shit like breaking windows and such. The majority just waltzed in took a tour and walked out. They even obeyed the velvet ropes in the entryway.

edit: looks like at least one person was inside the capitol with a firearm and four others were arrested in DC for open carrying firearms.

uncoder0··on Jack Ma Is Missing
Agreed, the two dead comments in reply to mine are a perfect illustration of my point.
uncoder0··on Jack Ma Is Missing
It's not really even true. There is one thing you can't get away with if you're wealthy in China and that is criticizing the CCP. You can get away will all sorts of awful things with a little Hongbao but, I'm not going to link sources as I'd get flagged/down'd by the sympathizers.
uncoder0··on Jack Ma Is Missing
I don't expect too much criticism of China in this thread. Too much Chinese money in SV startups for most people to risk it. I expect underhanded comments deriding the US instead as is typical in threads like these.
uncoder0··on Green recovery must end the reign of GDP, argue Cambridge and UN economists
Not meant to refute the GP argument but, in the US at the federal level the AvGas tax per gallon and gasoline tax per gallon are about the same ~ $0.19. This is probably one of those areas where subsidies and such obfuscate the reality.
uncoder0··on Ask HN: Do You Believe Dominions Servers Were Secure and Incapable of Mass Fraud
All software is exploitable and the machines and software aren't running verifiable open-source firmware and hardware so how could they possibly be demonstrably secure?
uncoder0··on Apple’s head of security indicted in Santa Clara County CCW case
Yes, I was arguing that they are like a poll tax. The 24th is a very good point. Is the right to vote even explicitly stated in the constitution? Is that why the 24th was required to prevent poll taxes?
uncoder0··on Apple’s head of security indicted in Santa Clara County CCW case
To expand on this... there are virtually zero intentional homicides at gun ranges and gun shows where hundreds of weapons are present.

Also all gun laws are discriminatory toward the poor and minorities disproportionately.

uncoder0··on Apple’s head of security indicted in Santa Clara County CCW case
Here is a simple argument to support that stance. Under the 2nd amendment I have the constitutional right to bear arms. If I want to purchase a suppressor to limit hearing damage while firing my weapons I have to pay a $200 tax, send my fingerprints to the FBI and wait 6 months to a year and sometimes longer before I can take possession of my suppressor. There are no similar restrictions on the right to vote or speak freely. The same rules apply if I wanted to add a stock to my AR 'pistol' which currently has a pistol brace or if I wanted to add a small piece of metal to make it fully automatic.
uncoder0··on Twitch streamers report DMCA takedowns for in-game sound effects
pretzel.rocks is a great company doing just this for streamers, I have no stake in the business I just know the founders and they're great people who truly care about content creators and musicians alike.
uncoder0··on My Resignation from the Intercept
From what I have observed anything even tangentially related the Biden stories gets to the front page quickly and sometimes it sticks there for a few minutes then gets flagged enough to start dropping down the ranks. This one lasted a lot longer on the front page than most have.
uncoder0··on My Resignation from the Intercept
>The elephant in the room (which Greenwald barely acknowledges in this essay) is that many mainstream news organizations have concluded that the evidence for this story was too weak to publish, and some believe it was fabricated by Russian intelligence.

Senate Homeland Security committee and DNI director both said that this was not an issue of foreign disinfo.

In addition there is an interview from one of the co-conspirators that's 45 minutes long and he's provided documents that could be easily verified if the journalists did the leg work and asked the people who received or sent those emails if they were legitimate.

uncoder0··on My Resignation from the Intercept
That was the only reason I went there. There podcast also went off the deep end over the past few months and has been terrible I used to love it and listen to it regularly since 2016ish.

Their page loads but they cannot access their account to make new tweets until they delete that post.
uncoder0··on Expensify's CEO urges people to vote against Trump
I looked at the polls[1] and specifically at the demographic of small bushiness owners, which I assume are most of Expensify's customers, and it seems he's talking to a 'lean trump' or toss up audience. How would Expensify's board justify the CEO making this kind of political speech using company channels when it's likely a half to a third of their customers are going to respond poorly?

uncoder0··on FCC to move ahead with 'rulemaking' on Section 230
You're probably correct on your first assumption that this is campaign related and most likely won't go anywhere. Legislation is the only 'real' way to change the section.
uncoder0··on Twitter and Facebook's action over Joe Biden article reignites bias claims
To preface my comment, I think using Hunter's drug problem for political gain is tasteless. Despite that I find it abhorrent that Twitter is not allowing users to post the photo instead it is instantly causing accounts to get locked. https://twitter.com/search?q=hunter%20locked%20pipe&src=type...

They last about 20-30 minutes on average around here. Longer than on other places.
uncoder0··on Twitter and Facebook's action over Joe Biden article reignites bias claims
I agree, Rudy Giuliani has spread quite a bit of disinfo over the past 4 years. The claim here that is supposedly supported by a receipt is that Hunter left the computer at a repair shop and never paid the bill. In adherence with the store contract they took ownership of the laptop after some time. When they looked at the hard drive they thought they saw illegal activity and turned it into the FBI after making a clone of the drives which is what Rudy claims he has.
uncoder0··on Twitter and Facebook's action over Joe Biden article reignites bias claims
Is the story demonstrably false? I don't know if that is the case. It's certainly a smear story. In the past they've fact-checked Tweets from the President and his party but, I've not yet seen them straight up delete them and lock their accounts until now.
uncoder0··on Twitter and Facebook's action over Joe Biden article reignites bias claims
To add to this Trump's official campaign Twitter had it's account locked this morning and a video Trump uploaded was promptly deleted. This is new information from today. The thread yesterday was about the initial wave of censorship. I posted about the new actions this morning but it got flagged as a dupe of yesterday's discussion. It was not a duplicate, Twitter has taken new action and decided to go further this morning than they did yesterday.
uncoder0··on Facebook and Twitter begin restricting circulation of Hunter Biden expose
The last few posts on this topic were quickly flagged to death. I expect the same to happen to this thread.
