As far as I know Samsung in Texas is not yet a done deal. They're requesting complete tax abatement for twenty years in addition to the inducements offered by local governments and I believe they're waiting to see if they can pull it off. Their current facilities in Austin have remained closed since the big snow storm.
In a world where WeWork can be valued at 47B USD by professional capitalists, there's something to be said for acknowledging that the stock market and stock valuations can be untethered to reality. I think the sentiment you mentioned is a combination of that and a bit of a humorous/nihilistic attitude towards the same.
Y'all seem to me to be selectively quoting from the statement to make it seem like they're attacking or attempting to destroy nuclear families when the full text shows that they are extending the concept of family from the nuclear family to a larger group.
They're looking to fill the position with a foreign contractor, almost certainly. I wrote some PHP sites 20 years ago and get contacted every now and then about taking a 2 month contract for $16 an hour writing PHP in Pittsburgh, which I'm sure has its charms but is also halfway across the country from me.
She was of course pointing it at other people on purpose, because where the firearm is pointed is a purposeful decision by the wielder. This sort of casual and incredibly dangerous treatment of firearms is why I support rigorous training and licensing requirements for firearms ownership in the US, despite being an owner myself and hunting enthusiast. Too many irresponsible people have incredibly easy access to firearms in the country.
Two countries is a series? Can't really count Morocco or Sudan as 'Arabic states' unless you're really stretching that definition and it seems you are.
Slavery was pretty widespread in Europe until the late Middle Ages, including Christians enslaving other Christians and selling them to slave traders. 10% of the census population of the Domesday Book were slaves, not serfs. This changed when a pope (I can't remember his name off the top of my head) was concerned that Christian slaves owned by Jewish and Muslim slave-owners would convert to their masters' religions. That was just a prohibition against enslaving fellow Christians and selling slaves to Jewish and Muslim slave-traders though.
I think it behooves the US and any other country serious about both climate change and extra-planetary exploration and colonization to develop a robust terrestrial nuclear power program as well as encouraging a trained cadre of nuclear engineers who can manage nuclear power sources on other planets, satellites and space-craft.
As someone who just went 6/7 days the past week without power, I'd love to incentivize them via rigorous government regulations requiring winterizing. Just to be sure they're properly incentivized.
I disagree with your assessment of the NRA. They appear to me to be first and foremost acting on the behalf of gun manufacturers and the most extreme firearms owners. If they were truly interested in standing up for responsible firearms owners they would have made a public statement about the murder of Philando Castile yet they've remained completely silent. I own firearms and enjoy hunting but the NRA is not a positive force in the US.
You could be at multiple super bowl parties/other events at once in VR. I know it's not exactly the same as being physically proximate but it offers some advantages that being there irl can't offer. You and all your friends in the lower stands at halfway marker all game. Maybe you want to all "sit" wherever the ball is on the field as it moves up or down the field of play. Maybe you have a specific spot in the stadium you like to sit at and you don't have to fight with others for that spot. I don't know it sounds kind of interesting for some things. I'd still personally rather be at a concert in person, I guess.
I was able to buy an ultrasonic humidifier six years ago from Bed Bath and Beyond. I think I had to order it online but it didn't seem to be too rare and it wasn't expensive, or at least it cost a reasonable amount.
Robinhood wasn't fulfilling orders though as far as I understand it? More like lead generation for Citadel, their market-maker? That seems like an issue for Citadel to be concerned with rather than Robinhood.
