wavefunction··on Japanese vegetable cutting techniques (2021)
It's a blog about Japanese food which is why they're talking about "Japanese techniques."

This article places the shapes or cutting techniques described within the context of Japanese cuisine. That someone somewhere else has at one time or another cut a vegetable does not really reflect on the formal techniques of a cuisine whether that be French, Chinese, Italian, Korean, Japanese or other cuisines that put a significant focus on defined techniques and following specific processes.

wavefunction··on Buddhism has found a new institutional home in the West: the corporation
Abortion has existed since before recorded history. Eugenics is 150 years old at most. I certainly wouldn't advance such a dishonest and immoral argument and it certainly illustrates why people like you should have little input into the definition of civil rights or society in general.
wavefunction··on Some notes on 'asshat' (2018)
nah Office resonates because it MIRRORED real life en vérité, not the other way around. That's always been Mike Judge's strength, casting the actual as fantastic as it really is for better or often worse.

we were saying assclown or azzclown before the movie but it hit so sweetly thus

wavefunction··on InfoWars files for bankruptcy in U.S. court
I don't know I got downvoted for my post too. I assume it's pro-Alex Jones brigading
wavefunction··on InfoWars files for bankruptcy in U.S. court
It's a civil defamation case and the professional US legal system has agreed that Alex Jones claiming Sandy Hook was a hoax and making various claims that have been shown to be false nor things he believed himself and exhorting his followers to harass the parents of the victims is a case of the accusations.
wavefunction··on InfoWars files for bankruptcy in U.S. court
Alex Jones has been hiding his wealth so he won't have to pay financial penalties for his frankly appalling behavior. Filing for bankruptcy while listing little of value is simply the next step in his attempts to duck out of the consequences of his malicious actions. His house in West Austin is worth at least a million dollars if not a few and Infowars has some goofy looking 4x4 SVU that has been heavily modified to appear intimidating and must be worth more than $50,000:

wavefunction··on Ancient tombs and statues unearthed beneath Notre Dame Cathedral
Notre Dame has been altered numerous times throughout history and it will be again in the future, either by design or necessity.
wavefunction··on Elon Musk makes $43B unsolicited bid to take Twitter private
Or the SEC could finally go after Elon for market manipulation. There's always options.
wavefunction··on Mexico truckers protest new Texas inspections, halt trade at border bridges
The Texas Railroad Commissioner has independent jurisdiction over petroleum and mineral rights in the state which is the bulk of their official power.
wavefunction··on Mexico truckers protest new Texas inspections, halt trade at border bridges
They are both elected positions with separate offices, so the Texas Ag Commissioner is not a subordinate of the Texas Governor, for example. The Lieutenant Governor in Texas has quite a bit more power than the Governor in fact as their office sets the agenda for the Texas legislature which meets only once every two years though for several months. The Texas Lieutenant Governor is also individually elected.
wavefunction··on Mexico truckers protest new Texas inspections, halt trade at border bridges
They're trying to recruit existing employees for these truck driver positions.
wavefunction··on On Being Disappeared
If it was that easy someone would have done it already. Just for the ad revenue or whatever.
wavefunction··on How Putin’s Oligarchs Bought London
What are you willing to pay me for the service?
wavefunction··on How Putin’s Oligarchs Bought London
A number of the most wealthiest (Top 15?) people in America inherited their wealth. The rest, well they seem to have exploited various aspects of the country and people.
wavefunction··on Finland or Sweden joining NATO would spark Russian response, Russia warns
Putin is lying when he proffers reasons and rationalizations for the evil and illegal acts of his government.
wavefunction··on What to do if a cop tries to scan your face during a traffic stop
I would only quibble with it being sizable. In my major city property crime dropped throughout the pandemic and violent crime was down during the beginning of the pandemic but returned to a level higher than pre-pandemic times, which is still quite a bit lower than historic records.
wavefunction··on Snowboarding for Geeks: An Ultimate Guide (2018)
Hucking 30 footers is cool but there's nothing like a fresh powder run on a longboard just floating. Going fast and floating like I'm surfing has been my thing while snowboarding for the past thirty years and it still holds up in my middle age.
wavefunction··on New York is using cameras with microphones to ticket loud cars
I'd be more interested in seeing this used for violators like construction projects and renovations. Not to disregard loud cars but they are a transient problem usually. Meanwhile someone else is grinding concrete and impact hammering for 8 hours straight for a week. And that's assuming they're not "starting early" or "going late."
wavefunction··on Australian spy agency disrupts foreign election interference
No, I recall a bunch of suspicious meetings between Trump, his sons, his close confidants and known Russian intelligence assets (keep in mind that includes people like ambassadors) that they lied about having happened until we were presented with evidence that they did, at which point they tried to downplay them.

That's my recollection at least.

wavefunction··on Tesla FSD Beta Lunges Toward Bicyclist
lol @ public beta
wavefunction··on Feds arrest couple, seize $3.6B in hacked Bitcoin funds
or actually it is money launderers looking for tokens with no previous history they can use to evade some % of future scrutiny
wavefunction··on Expanded Child Tax Policy Slashed Child Poverty
How outrageous to have to advocate for the public good for children. I simply cannot reconcile any opposing stance in any way.
wavefunction··on New research: natural gas appliances emit much more methane than realized
Adverse health effects have been observed among children with a functional but unused oven or stove such as higher rates of diabetes and asthma and other life-long effects.
wavefunction··on Apple will charge 27% commission for alternative payment systems in Netherlands
If my math checks out, it comes out to...? Trust-busting an Abusive Rent-Seeking Monopoly?!?
wavefunction··on Google Maps now requires WiFi scanning to use navigation
>Legally, everything it does must generate shareholder value.

What's the basis for this claim?

wavefunction··on Tesla to recall vehicles that may disobey stop signs
That seems like an appropriate generalized take on "laws" but in the specific case of ignoring a stop sign, I don't think it applies. Stop signs are a traffic control device that other drivers rely on to predict the intent of a vehicle approaching the stop sign.
wavefunction··on America's Favorite Pickup Truck Goes Electric
The situation is Texas was a complex interplay of a lack of winterization and over-demand on the natural gas network. This electric F-150 appeals to me for a number of reasons but one of them is that I could have powered my house for three days off this truck assuming I purchase and install a cutover switch, rather than have no power for seven days like I did last February.
wavefunction··on Sloth poaching in northwestern Colombia
Like own other people as slaves? I don't think I agree.
wavefunction··on Police in tiny Alabama town suck drivers into legal ‘black hole’
It has been dealt with at the state level just this past summer: https://www.wkrg.com/local-news/new-alabama-law-limits-polic... This sounds like a rogue police force of organized criminals.
wavefunction··on Farming Co. Says John Deere Is Monopolizing Repair Market
Couldn't a capable foreign rival just come to America, approach a local farmer and ask them for access to the tractor for long enough to derive whatever alleged trade secrets there are? Or even just buy one, either here or overseas and disassemble?
