The idea of PaaS is great but if developers can't afford the services, they'll all shut down. It seems to be the norm these days to host your app with one provider and host your databases elsewhere. Imagine paying for MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, etc etc, I'd rather get a dedicated server and host everything on it. Far cheaper and great for learning.
