People should care; the current clients of this service should care. It shouldn't be on top of HN for hours IMHO; by far most cannot do anything with this which makes it indeed cheap advertising. Or it should say 'invite only' or 'only for current members'. Then I probably wouldn't have read it and would've checked it when it said 'Signups now open'.
I think I have a number of invites, but the site is very slow at the moment.
Can you please send me an invite? We are building something that's going to be heavy on the server side and this looks like a really good deal.

I'm an existing customer of the original c1, I just spun up a box now... Might be invite to new customers only...
I had my account disabled a few months ago and support wouldn't re-enable it, told me to wait in line. :(
So that existing customers* (who will have higher retention rates) could order them before they become "victims of their success".
* I am one of them, but would really appreciate Scaleway to accept people that have invited faster.
