Uber and Lyft thought they could negotiate by pointing a gun at people's heads. Austin is the worst possible city to try this in with the possible exception of San Francisco.

Austin will work it out. And, when Austin has it worked out, it can be ported to other cities. So, if Lyft or Uber try this again, those cities will be ready on Day 1.

I hope this bites Uber and Lyft in the ass by producing a strong competitor.
