I have found with the current 5 star rating system that anything with less than 4 stars isn't worth watching.

And anything with 5 stars has a 50/50 chance of being worth watching.

So, for me, any simplification is welcome.

The star system didn't capture that either though

That's very rare cases. Cinema is the most unhuman conveyor of entertainment content consumption. Modern movies are nice looking moving pictures generated based on big data and emotion exploitation.
