Workflow changed with darktable 3 and to get the most out of it I recommend reading this article: https://pixls.us/articles/darktable-3-rgb-or-lab-which-modul... Many modules - that still work - are now deprecated in favour of RGB workflow new modules. The article above suggests proper alternatives for each of them.
