Unfortunately, the most convincing of those people are Apple, who are manifestly trying to kill the personal computer as a (more or less) open software system even if they left themselves some space to backtrack. Though Intel are far from blameless in that department as well, they look far less likely to actually succeed. I find it hard to cheer for any of the players here.
