YC is a startup accelerator and VC. What do you think happens to the companies that grow after completing YC? Ideally they grow and hire (and sometimes, fire) people.

With respect, i think it isn't and that the pendulum has swung too far on the other side. It is more likely that you will find purists who will attack anyone who wants to "make money on the internet" , to the point that people no longer post their projects here. E.g. it is impossible to state that you want to monetize your project via advertising and not get attacked. And yet the people who make those attacks overwhelmingly work in ads companies.
