The country is Iran. Sad to see BBC resorting to clickbait.

The BBC has been rabidly anti-Iran since like 2003, when I first started reading it.

Clickbait means hiding the content of the article from its title.

The title without clickbait would read: In Iran, having a pet could soon land you in jail (bbc.com)
