Came here to say: impressive how these metaphors are simultaneously so fascinating, presumably very insightful, and so unhelpful to a newbie trying to understand git.
The only time travel I'm interested in is what people 20 years in the future will make of our current git-steria. Linus wrote it so there must be a pony in there somewhere?
