Which is already the correct thing to do. It's a plain-text format, and browsers shouldn't be in the business of figuring how to render MarkDown.

I mean - one could argue they should render word and ppt documents as well. What are the trade-offs should be the question, dont you think?

They all render PDF today. Word and PowerPoint aren't that wild after PDF.

Well, I'm sure we can turn our browser into an operating system[1]?
