The concern is that all the humans die as a result of AI researchers who believe or hope they know what they are doing but in reality do not.

so...AI kills us (waves hands in the air). Ah yes clear as mud.

Like a lot of submissions to HN, this one is addressed to a specific audience already familiar with the argument that AI research is dangerous.
