Russia has _no_ interest in getting along with anybody else in the world and seek to dominate. When their insidious plans started to fail in Ukraine they resorted to force.
Why on earth would European counties _ever_ align with such a despotic collection of peoples? They're completely unable to form even a semi-functioning democracy for any period of time and soon descend into despotism the moment you take your eye off them for 2 minutes. Hard lessons are being re-learned in European capitals after our failure to deter the laughably ambitious megalomania of current Russian leaders.
Now Ukraine and Europe aligned, I get that. I believe they have the possibility to be an excellent political and economic partner in the EU.
That is false and entirely a prejudiced idea. Your three minutes hate is over.
Just saying that something is "false" is really not enough to disprove it.
If all you have to base your argument on is what you've learned in mainstream western media, I'm afraid you're not informed. Mainstream western media is literally owned by the same people who make the bombs that are dropped every twenty minutes on innocent people around the world...
Russia has made plenty of attempts at peaceful relations with its neighbors. It has been rebuffed countless times because peace with Russia won't make anyone any profit.
> If all you have to base your argument on is what you've learned in mainstream western media, I'm afraid you're not informed
As opposed to Russian state media or deranged fringe conspiracy theorists?
If you said something like this instead:
NAZI GERMANY has made plenty of attempts at peaceful relations with its neighbors. It has been rebuffed countless times because peace with GERMANY won't make anyone any profit.
You would sound about the same as you do now. Russia is not entitled to a zone of influence in Eastern Europe, it does not own Ukraine or the Baltic States for that matter. It's objectively an imperialist pseudo-fascist revanchist state...
What is the official state policy that you are referring to, which leads you to make these conclusions about Russia. Actual policies, which the government follows.
Not what you've been told to think about it - what the stated policies actually are?
Because if you're not referring to official state doctrine that drives the execution of that governments actions, all you're doing is pushing propaganda for your own side ...
But I guess there's a fairly low chance that you've actually studied Duma policies. Its about as likely that you're familiar with the CFR doctrine which leads America to invade and demolish other sovereign states with impunity, too...
No that's not why it's happening. US had nothing against stronger integration between the EU and Russia in the 90s and 00s, they'd much rather focus on the Pacific. Russia chose a different path as revanchist ex-empires gennerally tend to do...
> This would result in a superpower even China would have to ally with
Possibly but Russia really has nothing useful to contribute besides natural resources. It would clearly be a corrupting influence in Europe so I'm not sure if the cost would really be worth it.
Of course I'm not quite sure what you are suggesting. Obviously Europe and Russia could have economic relations which would be beneficial to both sides if Russia dropped it's revanchist/imperialist policies and stopped pretending it's still a global superpower. However even then Russia joining the EU would end in a dissaster..
Which policies exactly?
The first thing anyone in Russia does, if they’ve made money, is they buy real estate in Europe.
The vassal-ish relationship would not be functional, it would not work for Russians themselves. Nor is there are reason to believe Russia would dominate that relationship.
Clearly, nobody has really thought about this concept sufficiently well enough to understand its extensive merits...
> reactionary agitprop.
Right...
> a pittance
Did you bother actually looking up these numbers? Public spending on healthcare in the US is comparable to most Western European countries.
>>> This would be great in theory. But how do you reconcile a progressive left government siding with an authoritarian. It's pure fantasy.
