"Why the nerve, living a life different than I would choose!? IT MUST BE STOPPED."

Hm, is it just me or doesn't that sound like the agenda RMS is trying to push down everyone else's throat regarding their choices in personal computing?

Instructive blog posts and advocacy talks don't constitute "pushing down my throat." A response to an idea often says more about the responder than it does the idea. (I replied a little more to local-variable below.)

Please explain to everyone how this, http://stallman.org/amazon.html, is just instructive (useful/informational). There's plenty more.

You're right. He forgot to mention that Amazon keeps ambulances parked outside of its fulfillment centers because it's too cheap to aircondition them in the heat of the summer or allow its workers to take water breaks. Note: Employees pay for their hospitalizations from heat stroke.

Was the page forced on you somehow? Do you have some specific criticism or even evidence of it being untrue? I can believe it has some basis in reality, there was an episode just last year where purchased orwell books were stolen off kindles.

Is Skype forced on me? Is Amazon forced on me? Is Facebook forced on me?

Sorry, I don't follow.

Standard response from fundamentalists - they can only see their own reasoning, but fail to get a perspective of everything else around them. (re: gpl license advocates, political extremists, muslims etc.)

It's not just you.
