I've known about Bloom Filters for a while now, and I like the idea of them, but I've never had a need for them yet.

Browser :visited CSS pseudo-class lookup is one good every day candidate. No idea if thats how its implemented in Chrome/FF tho, last time I checked Chrome stores every single link ever clicked in Visited file so it must build fast lookup data structure on every browser start.

Good for you. Their main utility is in adtech and surveillance.

Or, in general, all data intensive applications.

Such as deduplication.
