If you're in the US, you can skip the registration. The warranty applies even if you don't register it. They try to convince you to "register" so they can fill out their marketing database.
Yeah, I finally came around to this yesterday, and the page says as much in the fine print. Just took down my details so that I can find them later and will leave it at that.
