When I was at Amazon I saw teams hiring based off of home country and not aptitude. I saw interview questions given to candidates before hand, and a second set of much harder questions for candidates they didn't want to hire.

Amazon, who prides itself in data driven decisions, can sometimes hire based off of home country bias.

I understand it's more complex than that, if you'll understand how that's unacceptable.
