Didn't he get fired because enough of the other YC partners couldn't trust him? If so, it's a pity for him that -at that time- he didn't have the CEO of a software megacorp to call on to reverse the decision and shitcan the people who made it.

Sadly, it's succumbing to the "the mods are -justifiably- uncomfortable with cleaning house and the quality of discussion is regressing to the Internet Mean" disease that every pretty-much-open-access link aggregator that attaches a link discussion forum contracts.
