The sentence structure implied that I would have personally insulted this HN user and did so multiple times.
That is not true though.
What you did probably sense instead is more of a general abrasiveness-field. That was intentional (and obvious, for that matter).
It was (and is) a never-ending drama faucet, because most people are in it for the identity and not for the utility. Or rather the utility primarily is the identity granted by using it.
