I can’t stand this sort of hyperbole.

Obviously this does not affect “every device worldwide”. I don’t have a single Android phone, and the devices I own that do run Android are not affected.

Clearly from context they meant every android device not every device.

Hopefully it won't affect outdated Android versions, either. Then the fix is easy: never update again.

there are plenty of android devices without google apps, I was running many of them in the last 10 years, my current phone is after long time still with enabled gapps, though no google account, I have zero problem to stop using gapps

It doesn't affect my air conditioner, my coffeemaker, or my slide rule! I'm really angry about this sort of rhetoric!
