Compare VSCodium vs the Rust+Tauri reimplementation.

The second one it's much, much faster.

Yes, Tauri is awesome. But now you’re reliant on hiring Rust developers instead of cheaper JS developers. Which comes back to my point about cost savings.

I think that's the 2025 mental model.

Nowadays you hire a developer that can use Claude or Cursor out whatever and they will use any language. There are no expensive Rust developers anymore. Or even JavaScript ones.
