Most of what mckinsey actually does is justify companies in their most toxic actions. It isn't the CEO/Board deciding to lay off 30% of their employees, Mckinsey recommended it. Cutting corners and benefits wasn't the C level's ideas, it was mckinsey recommended alignment with industry standards for synergy.

These elite consulting firms are all about being the fall guys for things that would cause employees to start talking about unionization. They also exist as a jobs program for the kids of very wealthy people.
