I like the analogy. Interesting to note that a lot of the really high end furniture is still made using hand tools. But it is not affordable for most, who will buy mass produced furniture made by machines.
Just ignore the bandsaw and drill press in the "pure hand tool artisan shop". And if they are making jigs with a table saw, ignore that also. I don't mind hand tools but I am not sure if I know any commercial hand tool only furniture or shop.
