Lots of people can, but why should they if their clients are not paying for it? Even worse, if they switch developers, they now need to onboard them into bespoke solutions with little to no public documentation.

I would never hire you and people with that purist of a mindset.

In my last job I worked with someone who went on holy wars to troll people without evidence. I am not interested in working with anyone who seeks conventions over measures.

This is exactly what you're doing. You're seeking the convention of building your own over the measure of valueable developer time

Is the "troll" still working there?

He was fired for a variety of things like withholding client communications, poor performance, absenteeism, lack of project awareness/status. It was pretty bad since he was in a leadership position as the Task Order Project Manager for a very high visibility project.
