Nobody wants compute in their TV.

Its job is to do an exact reproduction of the HDMI digital incoming signal with no interpretation.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it; but, if you're buying a "smart" TV, you might as well use the processor present in it. Rooting it and what not.

I guess I should have specified this.

I’d prefer to waste the capacity than to waste the power and heat buildup that would result from not wasting the capacity.

1. Find me a dumb tv.

2. Now find me a dumb tv in the same price range.

Just because the processing power is there doesn’t mean I want it

Its a display

Isn't that the point? You have no control over said compute.
