I strongly disagree with your assertion about La Sagrada Familia. I think it displays both focus over the long term and a sense of greater purpose, to a high degree.

But, my primary read is "flashy attention seeker" or "fun entertaining". Not seriousness, future and all those other things OP listed. They are not disciplined, they are playful, provoking etc
