AI is going to be a driving force behind it if it begins to work. What do you think the results of most humans suddenly becoming economically irrelevant will be?

Keep in mind that today, if essential workers go on strike, those in power have to listen. What happens if people on UBI refuse to... something? Especially in a world of increasingly automated policing and surveillance?

I think the humans still have quite a chance to overthrow a police state tyranny.

If it was that simple someone would have already done it. Even in places like the USA, attempted political assassinations are very rare.

But what you say also gives us a path back to economic relevance: you can make money by selling policing equipment to increasingly paranoid states. They'll never be satisfied with what they already have. It doesn't even have to be a useful product, it just has to satisfy their paranoia while also fueling it.

Sounds like a great future where everyone prospers.
