>It has driven hundreds of billions, perhaps trillions, of dollars of value.

The same can (almost) be said for Javascript. A language with a lot of foibles can still be successful if it is the only realistic mechanism to interact with the system.

I am sick of having to assume my network hardware is trivially compromised.

What will it take for me to be able to purchase a microkernel driven router/access-point with audited drivers (or Rust based)? I would settle for mediocre performance (ie no gigabit) if I could have some strong security guarantees.

Can I setup Redox or seL4 as home network hardware at this point? Or would the pain threshold still be quite high?

I would take a vertical coffin of office space if it came with a door. Something to block out the audio and visual noise and supported whatever horizontal space was needed to host my monitors.

I realize some people could not handle the claustrophobia, but for those that can this seems like an easy win to minimize footprints while isolating those who are bothered by the distractions of others.

I don't suppose you have any pointers on how to make that a reality in Ubuntu/Debian? I too would be very interested in being able to configure whitelist only network connections.
