0fflineuser··on HackerTube: YouTube built from videos recommended by HN
Personnaly I disabled recommendations/watch history/etc... so the youtube homepage is blank, there is absolutely nothing on it.

I first started by moving all my subscriptions to grayjay(where I also disabled the home page), that way I just click the subscriptions tab and there is everything there, you can even create subscription groups if needed.

Then as I had some issues with grayjay desktop(not the mobile app which works great) I then simply moved all my subscriptions to miniflux and newsrafts(which I now rarely use). I use feedflow on android and reminiflux on desktop as I don't like the miniflux frontend. So now if there is a new channel I want to follow I just add the channel rss feed to miniflux/newsraft.

So for apple tv I guess you could use a RSS app but I am not sure the user experience would be great, so using grayjay could be an option as you can stream the video to the TV's but that would require another device (phone/computer) as it's not available on ios/apple tv.

I guess a good starting point would be to simply disable everything in your youtube settings to start off (watch history, recommandations, etc...).

I am pretty sure exa specifically say it trains on your data in it's privacy policy, so how can it be ZDR ?

I remember as I was looking at the available web tools for hermes agent not to long ago and looked through the keyless web providers privacy policies, which exa is one of them.

0fflineuser··on GrapheneOS has fixed the Android 17 QPR1 kernel performance regression
I was wondering what was wrong with my phone, i thought a reboot would fix it and forget to do it everytime.

The lags are actually quite unpleasant and noticable, i wonder how it wasn't caught before the release.

I do not use Music Assistant.

As Music Assistant supports subsonic (https://www.music-assistant.io/music-providers/subsonic/) and Navidrome expose a subsonic endpoint it should be possible (https://www.navidrome.org/docs/developers/subsonic-api/).

Hi, Actually it's not a fork it's the docker image for the plugin branch.

Sorry I set this up quite a long while ago and didn't remember correctly.

And it seems to have been merged so the plugin branch is not needed anymore, see: https://github.com/Lidarr/Lidarr/pull/1829

So the official image would work.

edit:

I just migrated and I can confirm it works.

I used lscr.io/linuxserver/lidarr:nightly, note that the `latest` tag won't work as it's using the `master` branch which doesn't have plugin support yet, so either use the `nightly` tag or the `develop` tag.

See: https://docs.linuxserver.io/images/docker-lidarr/#version-ta...

If anyone is interested in selfhosting or wants to stop using spotify without losing the discoverabily:

I use explo+slsk+lidarr+navidrome, for access on my phone I use dsub2000 or symfonium but mainly dsub2000.

Explo is the software used for the discovery https://github.com/LumePart/Explo It automatically downloads daily jams, weekly jams and weekly exploration playlists from your listenbrainz account(free) using youtube, soulseek(with slskd) or lidarr (support was merged very recently).

I also imported all my artists from my spotify account when I migrated which you can do in lidarr with the plugin ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶k̶ ̶ bellow ̶b̶e̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶i̶s̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶s̶u̶p̶p̶o̶r̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶a̶i̶n̶ ̶l̶i̶d̶a̶r̶r̶.̶

plugin: https://github.com/TypNull/Tubifarry

̶f̶o̶r̶k̶ ̶d̶o̶c̶k̶e̶r̶ ̶i̶m̶a̶g̶e̶:̶ ̶g̶h̶c̶r̶.̶i̶o̶/̶l̶i̶n̶u̶x̶s̶e̶r̶v̶e̶r̶-̶l̶a̶b̶s̶/̶p̶r̶a̶r̶r̶:̶l̶i̶d̶a̶r̶r̶-̶p̶l̶u̶g̶i̶n̶s̶

docker image: lscr.io/linuxserver/lidarr:nightly

This plugin is also needed for downloading songs with slsk in lidarr.

0fflineuser··on Tell HN: Litellm 1.82.7 and 1.82.8 on PyPI are compromised
I was running it (as a proxy) in my homelab with docker compose using the litellm/litellm:latest image https://hub.docker.com/layers/litellm/litellm/latest/images/... , I don't think this was compromised as it is from 6 months ago and I checked it is the version 1.77.

I guess I am lucky as I have watchtower automatically update all my containers to the latest image every morning if there are new versions.

I also just added it to my homelab this sunday, I guess that's good timing haha.

0fflineuser··on Pass: Unix Password Manager
I love it. It is so simple and flexible.

But a life saver is using it with <https://github.com/skeeto/passphrase2pgp>.

This means we don't need to move gpg/ssh keys we can just recreate them by remembering their passphrase (and other stuff like the date if we want).

  # gpg key for the encryption of the password-store
  passphrase2pgp --subkey --protect=2 --uid "helloworld" | gpg --import

  #for access to the git remote repo add to it this public key :
  passphrase2pgp -u emergency -f ssh -p > ~/.ssh/emergency.pub
  #only use it to install a non-emergency key as a new authorized key :
  passphrase2pgp -u emergency -f ssh | ssh-add -
I read a blog post for the above but can't remember what it was, but it's amazing now It's very easy to download and access the password-store from any devices, I use it in window, linux and termux.

Funnily enough I never used `pass generate` once, even tough I have more than 3700 passwords. I always used the `pwgen` command, I don't know if there really is a big difference between the 2 (except pass generate being already in pass).

As for how to structure, here are some example of how I do it :

  <service>/email
  <service>/otp
  work/<service>/password
  homelab/<service>/username
They are all only one line except some backup codes which use multiline.

Then it's very easy to get the password or the otp, just bind `passmenu`, `passmenu-otp` in your window manager or directly use the command line for multiline stuff.

0fflineuser··on Better Shell History Search
Personnally I use bash, so I made so my history is eternal (as is the content never get deleted) and I use FZF_CTRL_R_OPTS to customize the ctrl-r of fzf.

Also the history is reloaded after each command so if I type multiple commands in a tmux pane x, and then go to another tmux pane y I just have to type something (just press the enter key) in pane y and I have the full history of what happened in pane x.

Here is how to do it, just add the following to your .bashrc for the eternal history :

```
  export HISTFILESIZE=
  export HISTSIZE=
  export HISTTIMEFORMAT="[%F %T] "
  export HISTFILE=~/.bash_eternal_history
  export HISTCONTROL=ignoreboth
  shopt -s histappend
  shopt -s checkwinsize
  filtered_history_save() {
      local last_command=$(history 1 | awk '{print $4}')
      # Don't store some commands in the history.
      if [[ ! "$last_command" =~ (mpv|pass|yt-dlp|wtwitch) ]]; then
          history -a
      fi
      history -c
      history -r
  }
  export PROMPT_COMMAND="filtered_history_save; $PROMPT_COMMAND"
  # http://superuser.com/questions/575479/bash-history-truncated-to-500-lines-on-each-login
  # http://superuser.com/questions/20900/bash-history-loss
```

And for the custom fzf ctrl-r :

```
  # Source fzf (should already be here if fzf is installed)
  if [ -f /usr/share/fzf/completion.bash ]; then
    . /usr/share/fzf/completion.bash
  fi
  if [ -f /usr/share/fzf/key-bindings.bash ]; then
    . /usr/share/fzf/key-bindings.bash
  fi
  # Customize ctrl-r
  export FZF_CTRL_R_OPTS="
    --preview 'echo {2..} | bat --color=always -pl sh'
    --preview-window right:wrap
    --bind 'ctrl-/:toggle-preview'
    --bind 'ctrl-t:track+clear-query'
    --bind 'ctrl-y:execute-silent(echo -n {2..} | pbcopy)+abort'
    --color header:italic
    --header 'Press CTRL-Y to copy command into clipboard'"
```

Yes, thanks for pointing it out, it should be true.

I took it from my config which I did a long time ago and I guess I didn't pay attention enough when doing it, my bad !

0fflineuser··on Himalaya: CLI to Manage Emails
Personnaly, I use https://gitlab.com/shackra/goimapnotify , you can add a `~/.config/imapnotify/{{ youremailaddresshere }}.yaml` config file for each of your email addresses and enable and start it as a systemd service with `systemctl --user enable ---now goimapnotify@{{ youremailaddresshere }}.service`

Here is and example of a config file for a gmail address :

```
  host: imap.gmail.com
  port: 993
  tls: true
  tlsOptions:
    rejectUnauthorized: false
  username: {{ youremailaddresshere }}
  password: ''
  passwordCMD: pass mw/{{ youremailaddresshere }} | head -n1
  onNewMail: mailsync {{ youremailaddresshere }} | while read OUTPUT; do notify-send "" "$OUTPUT"; done
  onNewMailPost: ''
  onDeletedMail: ''
  onDeletedMailPost: ''
  boxes:
    - INBOX
```
