10xDev··on Microsoft offers voluntary buyouts to a quarter of its workforce
No, it was roughly 30% earlier this year.
10xDev··on Microsoft offers mass buyouts for roughly a quarter of its workforce
Some are probably being set up for retirement. I wouldn't feel too bad. You should probably be more worried about yourself.
10xDev··on Anthropic S-1
If you weren’t investing you were going to be poor even without AI.
10xDev··on Burnham suggests stocking up on tinned food and bottled water
>Andy Burnham said "unexpected events seem to be becoming more and more common".

This appears to be deeper than what you are implying and possibly to do with Russia's hybrid warfare / AI. Unfortunately we only have vague statements to work with from the Prime Minister.

10xDev··on Are we sleepwalking into World War III?
What is a country worth if it isn't made up of people? Sounds like a hollow victory at best if not a total self-capitulation.
10xDev··on Man arrested after discussing plans for childcare mass shooting with [Claude]
>Thackray’s lawyer, Danilo Rajkovic, told the court his client had gone on a stress and frustration- induced tirade after trying to use the Claude platform to help treat an ear infection.

AI is not your friend and neither are tech companies. Repeat that as many times as you need to until it is fully understood.

10xDev··on There's never been a better time to go into math (by: 3blue1brown) [video]
This is why taking advice from people who 'made it' is not as smart of an idea as people seem to think it is. You are subject to extreme survivorship bias who are normally going to be optimistic. It is feels good entertainment. You are not hearing the countless voices that failed even pre-AI for small and irrational reasons.
10xDev··on Hybrid Reasoning Agents: LLM agents that think in latent space, act through text
Read Thinking, Fast and Slow. Both system 1 and system 2 thinking has been achieved with modern AI.

Your argument that it is not thinking because it is not biological / like a human is like trying to argue a plane doesn't fly because it uses jet fuel unlike a bird.

10xDev··on British Airways: Filming Crew W Meta Glasses Could Get Your Tickets Cancelled
Ironically you have shown that you probably don't go outside often because this doesn't work out the way you think it does.
10xDev··on Anthropic's proposed AI safety bill only kicks in if 50 deaths or $1B in damages
So Claude figured out a human life is worth 20 million dollars?
10xDev··on How employment is changing at Anthropic
Pre-training already makes up a very small cost of the training now. Post-training makes up ~90% of the training cost as modern LLMs are trained using RLVR on synthetic data. People still think that a lot of it is coming from scraping wikipedia like it is 2023.
10xDev··on How employment is changing at Anthropic
I'm surprised this is even a question and the fact that you used human and not even mammal to phrase your question. Do you think intuition is a unique human trait?
10xDev··on How employment is changing at Anthropic
Online / continual learning will solve this problem. Test time training has already proven to be effective.
10xDev··on How employment is changing at Anthropic
Intuition is just system 1 thinking. Nothing that doesn't already exist.
10xDev··on How employment is changing at Anthropic
> Ever increasing agent activity can only move to the point where it's literally impossible for humans to have a collective awareness of how the systems that support our lives actually work

That's the point, they are setting up the economy to be run by agents and they trust that it is possible. Step 1. Teach AI human knowledge (2022-2023). Step 2. Make AI agentic (2025). Step 3. Start autonomous research and create own corpus of knowledge (2026).

Step 3 will keep compounding (as we are witnessing) and most people will be left behind. I'm not against a revolution, I'm all for it.

10xDev··on AI lab offers free plumbing and HVAC repairs to train AI robots
The most common outcome on Polymarket is "no", meaning most things don't end up happening and things continue on as is. That's what "boring" implies.

Someone even made a "nothing ever happens" trade bot that was shared on here as a meme/experiment that always bets on nothing happening.

10xDev··on AI lab offers free plumbing and HVAC repairs to train AI robots
The most boring reality is the most probable. No one is doomed.
10xDev··on Japanese people still aren't having sex. And nobody knows why
False narrative: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-026-57582-3
10xDev··on Japanese people still aren't having sex. And nobody knows why
The whole list is hyperbole. Hinge is growing, Tinder and Bumble along with most other apps are dying and obviously this is not representative of every Japanese man.

I'm making a point about current general trends and their potential consequences, not listing facts.

10xDev··on Japanese people still aren't having sex. And nobody knows why
You know people are allowed to use hyperbole? I would be surprised if someone took banning porn literally.
10xDev··on Japanese people still aren't having sex. And nobody knows why
Today in the news: Japanese men are not having sex, porn is banned in the UK and dating apps are dying.

This isn't good if you don't want men becoming increasingly conservative, which is already well underway.

10xDev··on Tesla Roadster
Remember when you were a child and your imagination wasn't killed yet by money and politics?
10xDev··on I do not know how to teach kids this low
Go to cscareerquestions and you would think everyone is getting laid off. It is called engagement bait.
10xDev··on Call Center Jobs Are Declining, but 14,000 Calls Show Humans Still Outperform AI
If it is an LLM, it has been prompted to say almost nothing except prewritten responses to avoid legal issues or to avoid free LLM usage. I think it was Chipotle support that would write code if you asked it.
10xDev··on Call Center Jobs Are Declining, but 14,000 Calls Show Humans Still Outperform AI
"AI"

Usually when I chat with a support bot it doesn't feel like an LLM but something that performs keyword matching and a prewritten response pre-LLM era.

10xDev··on I do not know how to teach kids this low
>School is now just glorified babysitting and stopping kids from either overdosing, getting pregnant, or committing suicide.

Absolutely false. Anyone who believes this should step outside and get away from doomer BS like this. I volunteered at a school and children were literally having fun with Scratch.

10xDev··on Why are we even doing all this?
There also will never be a Mikhail Tal type of player again and most classical matches at the highest level are just draws now. I'm not sure if you could say AI is a benefit for the highest level but it is an equaliser in the sense that you don't need to pay for a tutor to analyse your mistakes (though they can still be helpful) which helps the average player. Chess is also predominantly for entertainment making it not the best example for AI not replacing people.
10xDev··on Social platforms have 'responsibility' to block US execution live stream
takes look at profile and comment history yup about what I expected.
10xDev··on Social platforms have 'responsibility' to block US execution live stream
No brutalisation is worse. There doesn’t need to be a point for sadistic people.
10xDev··on Social platforms have 'responsibility' to block US execution live stream
1. It is a crippled man

2. People who believe in martyrdom will never be deterred by this. Many grow through adversary, look at the Houthis.

3. There is no proof that it even works on ordinary people with the opposite effect sometimes taking place (brutalisation), it is a terrorist strategy. If it worked, you would see more countries doing it.
