1zee··on Facebook Still Tracks People on Yelp, Duolingo, Indeed
Edgy, but most jobs in a capitalistic, efficiency-obsessed marketplace involve redistributing consumer demand.
1zee··on 'Moment of reckoning': US cities burn recyclables after China bans imports
just ban plastic bottles.... cans work just fine.
1zee··on Sting Operations to Expose Celebrity Psychics
I'm not going to defend Mormon beliefs, but I will play devil's advocate. Many Mormons view tithe as giving back to the community of which they're a part. And that community, they believe, will provide value to them, in turn. And generally, it does... as far as I can tell from the outside.
1zee··on Confessions of a location data exec
Ah, so you're an optimist
1zee··on Confessions of a location data exec
Can you elaborate on the analogy in the context of this thread?

Insurance companies and Luxottica
1zee··on There's no such thing as a free watch (2017)
a relevant aside, the Reply All podcast episode on drop-shipping is a great listen
1zee··on Magnus Carlsen Beats Fabiano Caruana to Win World Chess Championship
What is the "cultural concept of 'chess'" then, and according to whose culture?
1zee··on Priceline now worth $100B
You know people that would not recognize any of those brands?
1zee··on Not Hotdog App

1zee··on Not Hotdog App
Can you explain to a noob how you wrote the Native module around TensorFlow? My main area of focus is in python, but I feel hindered when I think I'm ready to start developing for mobile apps. I'm looking into RN, but still not sure how that plays with TF and other python modules.
1zee··on New Study Challenges a Genetic Link to Stress, Depression
Completely anecdotal, but many of my friends that are of Asian descent have a tough time putting a finger on or grasping what depression is. It almost seems like it's not something that they have been wired to be able to feel or experience.

I was wondering if there was any research to back up that tendency....

1zee··on How 'dockless' cycles flooded China and are heading overseas
Docks make no sense in Copenhagen, where most everyone knows how to properly park their wheel-locked bikes in a non-intrusive way.

Also, most people have their own bikes.

1zee··on Uber Employees Use Secret Tools to Target Drivers and Undercut Competition
I'm just trying to picture a team that stares at God View and the Lyft app all day, triangulating and throwing subsidies at oblivious drivers all day.
