4ngleon Ask HN: Idea Sunday

The big thing about imgur is the community. Consider the front page of imgur. I think that's the cool thing about the idea.

You usually go to Soundcloud because you're linked there, it's not something that easily builds its own culture.

4ngleon Carry Your Instrument On The Plane – It's The Law

The wiggling email fields are the most obnoxious things I've seen in recent history.

4ngleon Why GNU grep is fast (2010)

Original title is better. I'm gonna call the cops.

4ngleon Why Every Office Should Switch To Walking Desks

I can't help but be reminded of John Kilduff from Let's Paint TV.

4ngleon Native Steam under openSUSE, Gentoo, Fedora, Arch

Native? This is a guide to installing under wine.

4ngleon Fizz Buzz codegolf challenge in 15 languages

The boilerplate (include the shebang) counts towards your score, so just ditch it and start anew.

4ngleon Leaping Brain's "Virtually Uncrackable" DRM is just an XOR with "RANDOM_STRING"

Not to mention, a foolhardy challenge to break it.

4ngleon I Have 50 Dollars

If that's the cost of friendship, consider it paid.

All joking aside, I agree with the message. I almost signed up for app.net today, but didn't (after finally noticing the charge aspect (not gonna lie, didn't really look into it)) because it is NOT going to overthrow anything, let alone Twitter.

The warm sentiments of no ads is nice, but end-users don't give a shit. $50 is MONEY, free--adversely--isn't.

I'll be happy if people can prosper from app.net, but I don't see much happening there that didn't happen at google+.

4ngleon Google’s Project Glass will lock down when it senses theft, patent shows

Come at me, McDonalds!
