AtlanticThird··on Tesla Semi catches fire on I-880
You're upset that we're socializing the cost of training first responders, just like we have for all training for first responders?

You said "No" and then to went on to explain your answer as if it was a "Yes"

Are you aware of any current country or any country throughout history that has granted the government powers like this and hasn't been abused? I think you're mistaken to blame lack of accountability and lack of public oversight. I think it's simply not possible.
AtlanticThird··on 'Pervert glasses': Backlash against Meta's smart glasses grows
You're going to be disappointed. I wear them 24/7. I even sleep in them.
AtlanticThird··on 'Pervert glasses': Backlash against Meta's smart glasses grows
My assumption about the default use case is that people want to take normal pictures. For example, I wear them to sporting events, and it's a lot faster to take a picture of the action with my Meta glasses than with my iPhone.

I wish they would add a ZDR endpoint on OpenRouter
AtlanticThird··on US airlines are pushing to remove protections for passengers and add more fees
Or we can treat people equally and not discriminate based on whether or not they have kids
AtlanticThird··on US airlines are pushing to remove protections for passengers and add more fees
He said had to, as in necessities. No one has to go on vacations, much less fly for them
AtlanticThird··on US airlines are pushing to remove protections for passengers and add more fees
Hmmm didn't realize families had to go on vacation, and even more so they had to do it by flying

I didn't do these things for economic reasons growing up, and I'm perfectly fine today

AtlanticThird··on US airlines are pushing to remove protections for passengers and add more fees
I'm fine subsidizing necessities for kids, but flying is a luxury
AtlanticThird··on US airlines are pushing to remove protections for passengers and add more fees
I have medical issues that require me to fly first class. It's not a choice. I don't expect you to pay for it
AtlanticThird··on US airlines are pushing to remove protections for passengers and add more fees
What do you mean there is no cost? Aisle and window seats are more valuable and can be sold for more, and this would force airlines to sell them to families without any up charge they would've received from other customers
AtlanticThird··on US airlines are pushing to remove protections for passengers and add more fees
I don't think that's what anyone wants. I think they just want families with young children to pay to sit together, like everyone else has to
AtlanticThird··on It is worth it to buy the fast CPU
Lying about a laptop being stolen is black and white. I'm not sure how you are trying to say that is ambiguous.

I don't know what the hell you mean by the term unreasonable. Are you under the impression that investment banking analysts do not think they will have to work late before they take the role?

AtlanticThird··on Atlassian terminates 150 staff
I agree with the theme of your message, but it's actually very challenging legally to change an options expiration date after its issued, and likely has negative tax implications
AtlanticThird··on Gemini 2.5 Deep Think
Upgraded and quickly hit my limit. And find that they have limits, I just wish that they were more transparent. Even if it's just a vague statement about limited usage. I assumed it would be similar to regular Gemini 2.5 on the pro plan but it's not

> Compared to every other developed democracy in the planet, the US is politically unstable with its two party democracy.

I don't think this holds up to any sort of scrutiny. Brexit, plenty of other examples across the world

You're the one that came in and told him about the "factor in your math". Like you said, it's his comparison, not yours. If you want to do your own comparison, feel free. But don't come in and tell him he's not allowed to do his comparison. I for one like is comparison.
