BitterSweets··on Cancer-Linked Chemicals Manufactured by 3M Are Turning Up in Drinking Water
Is there anywhere in the US that you can live without fear or worry of having contaminated water or air?
BitterSweets··on Why [Insert Thing Here] Is Not a Password Killer
Closest to a password killer I've used so far is the built-in iCloud Keychain. My iPhone and MacBook both have access to the same passwords and most of the are randomly generated.
BitterSweets··on Why almost everyone was wrong about Tesla’s cash flow situation
Why buy a MacBook Pro for $2k+ when you can get by with a ChromeBook for $150?
BitterSweets··on Portal from Facebook: Voice Enabled Hands-Free Video Calling
Seems like a good product from the wrong two companies. I don't want Alexa nor Facebook in my house listening to everything, regardless of how "private" they say my conversations are.
BitterSweets··on SEC settlement sends Tesla stock soaring
Worked great for me so far. Buy the dip, sell high. Rinse and repeat. Granted TSLA is the only stock I monitor daily, rest of my portfolio is long.
BitterSweets··on SEC settlement sends Tesla stock soaring
I'm glad. Big middle finger to the shorts and the mass media who seems to love to post negative news on Tesla. Why didn't they include that the model 3 was the most popular sedan this quarter?

I personally put more money in Tesla on Friday and woke up to a nice surprise this morning.

BitterSweets··on Ask HN: Why did your startup fail and what did you learn?
Not my startup but worked for one until they pivoted. We had a photographer platform (https://picr.com) competing with Thumbtack (except our photographers were to be paid higher instead of a bid to the bottom.

Everything seemed right. We had the right market (Portland, OR), with a beautiful design and great customer experience. We managed to get roughly 100 photographers on board but the customers never came. After a year or so, Picr ended up pivoting to more of a photographer platform than a AirBnb/Thumbtack alternative. Most of the team was let go and only a few devs stayed.

Lesson learned: Building a two sided market is hard.
