Brysonbw··on Show HN: HackerBooks – HackerTube, but for books mentioned on HN
Super useful. Thanks
Brysonbw··on The bottleneck was never the code
Everything in life revolves around people, and even more so today
Brysonbw··on AI Made Writing Code Easier. It Made Being an Engineer Harder
This. Less is always more. We always have to ask "why" and "who" first before "what" and "how"
Brysonbw··on Ask HN: Will AI tools enable mass intelligence gathering?
I agree
Brysonbw··on Idiomatic Rust – A peer-reviewed collection of Rust articles/talks/repos

Brysonbw··on JSDoc is TypeScript
I'm a big advocate for explicit type annotations in code. Likewise, either or is good with me. However, these days I lean towards using JSDoc only because I prefer not to add typescript lib and an additional build step just to get type safety in a project.

Also, you can use both (if that's what you prefer).

Brysonbw··on Most technical problems are people problems
100% agree. The coding is straightforward - it's the human factors, context, and data complexities that make things difficult
Brysonbw··on OpenAI and Nvidia announce partnership to deploy 10GW of Nvidia systems
The infrastructure and energy required to power these systems at scale are critical. I hope we carefully consider the environmental impact of building and operating data centers. I’m optimistic that we will develop efficient and sustainable solutions to power the data centers of today and the future
Brysonbw··on Show HN: YC Startup Map – A Map Visualization of the YC Startup Directory
Thanks for the feedback. I applied fix and it should be loading consistently now, thanks for providing the error!
Brysonbw··on Show HN: YC Startup Map – A Map Visualization of the YC Startup Directory
Thanks for the feedback and hmm I'll look into it and see why
Brysonbw··on Show HN: YC Startup Map – A Map Visualization of the YC Startup Directory
Thanks for the feedback, and interesting - I never heard of a semantic map. I might have to make one then lol
Brysonbw··on Say Bye with JavaScript Beacon
One of my favorite Web APIs
Brysonbw··on Show HN: Fetchet – A compact, promise-based, HTTP fetch wrapper
Thanks for the feedback. I've updated the README providing why someone might use the package but it's based on my perspective. If you have anymore thoughts on the package feel free to contribute and open a pull request
Brysonbw··on Show HN: Fetchet – A compact, promise-based, HTTP fetch wrapper
Thanks for the feedback. When you say simplified functions do you mean breaking up requests into their own functions like fetchet.get(...) and so on. Or making some of the utils I've written available as well?
Brysonbw··on Show HN: Fetchet – A compact, promise-based, HTTP fetch wrapper
Thanks for the feedback, and correct.

'Additions to fetch()` section in repo README.md would answer why someone would use the lib vs fetch: https://github.com/brysonbw/fetchet?tab=readme-ov-file#addti....

Brysonbw··on Dumb-init, an init system for Docker containers
This will answer your question while also explaining why the need for an init system in the context of Node.JS docker security: https://cheatsheetseries.owasp.org/cheatsheets/NodeJS_Docker...

Brysonbw··on Why is your open source project still hosted on GitHub?
Interesting read - thanks for including GitHub alternatives
Brysonbw··on Shit's Gonna Get So Fucking Weird and Terrible
Interesting read. Some texts that stood out to me:

-- "This is what happens when every part of a society is forced to act like a corporation."

-- "The line between original and derivative vanishes. And instead of truth, we get trust."

-- "Entire identities will form around content that never touched a human hand."

Brysonbw··on Guide to Moving to Japan for Work
Thanks for sharing
Brysonbw··on The Nintendo Switch 2 arrives on June 5th for $449.99
Nice - been waiting for an actual release date. I plan on buying one for my grandma who is 86
Brysonbw··on The <select> element can now be customized with CSS
Been waiting for this - hopefully this inspires more native web features to be implemented so devs can reduce their reliance on dependencies
Brysonbw··on Most AI value will come from broad automation, not from R&D
This is an interesting take and I think it could possibly be true (at this moment in time). Likewise, only time will tell...

Brysonbw··on Generative AI Is a Parasitic Cancer
At 1:05:18 I agree with her take. Sure, AI will help us be productive BUT we must not give it full reign over our decisions and voice of reason
Brysonbw··on The Harm Stack (Htmx, Axum/AlpineJS, Rust, Maud) Considered Unharmful
Good article - very insightful
Brysonbw··on Show HN: SimpleSearch – Just a list of search bars
I like this - simple, good, and practical

# Feedback

- Maybe add a way for a user to modify/adjust layout of search bars. For example view them in a row or grid versus single column

- Delete a search bar from the list versus replacing it with another search bar. For example, I may just want to see github and google only. But can always add more from the 'more' dropdown menu. Basically adding an 'X' to the left of the search bar

Once again, smooth app

Brysonbw··on Ask HN: What will be the next trend after AI?
- Robotics and autonomous services

- Resurgence of crazed AR/VR games like 'Pokémon Go'
