Chloro··on DigitalOcean App Platform
Recently discovered cloud run and it's absolutely amazing. I will be using it for as much as possible going forward. Cheap, easy, scaling. For a crud app it does everything you could ever want.

Chloro··on Go generics may use square brackets [] not parenthesis ()
If go gets generics I will never use it again.
Chloro··on Go + Services = One Goliath Project
App engine isn't going anywhere. Don't be so dramatic.
Chloro··on Ask HN: Tools or sites you use to scope out a workplace before taking a job?
You make it sound like it a marriage or something. If you don't like it you can always leave. That's worked for me so far.
Chloro··on Will Node.js Forever Be the Sluggish Golang?
This is great! I'm bootstrapping an app now and I think I will give this a try. I hope the pub sub support gets added soon.
Chloro··on You probably don't need a single-page app
I don't get it. SPAs are easy to make and have way more pros than cons.
Chloro··on Major games publishers are feeling the impact of peaking attention
I have plenty of time, but the games these days are awful and are purely centered around siphoning as much money out of the consumer as possible. It's quite unpleasant. I'm stuck playing older games because of this.
Chloro··on Ask HN: Go-to web stack today?
React in the front, Node in the back (or Golang if you need extra performance), postgres for DB.
Chloro··on Show HN: Jetpack – Webpack made more convenient
We already have parcel.js which does all of this really well.
Chloro··on Fundamental rule of traffic: building new roads makes people drive more (2015)
If roads were 20x wider I guarantee traffic would be reduced or damn near eliminated. They just want an excuse to charge people and/or enable the rich to get special transport privileges. Also where do they get off claiming these people are getting this for free? They bought it with their taxes, so to double charge them and exclude the poor is pretty messed up.
Chloro··on Walt: JavaScript-like syntax for WebAssembly
Are you seriously hung up on keywords? Also, you are not required to use "let"...
Chloro··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (October 2018)
Surprised to see somewhere based in Grants Pass! Could you give me a hint on your salary ranges?
Chloro··on Startup School Advisor Track: You Are In
Damn, I shared this with friends and family. Never been so excited...
Chloro··on Richest 1% took 82% of new global wealth last year, report says
"Meritocracy is hard to fight."

If think we live in a meritocracy you are delusional.

Chloro··on Ask HN: Those starting new side projects in 2018 – Show and tell
This looks awesome! I would love to do something like this with my wife. I would be very interested to see how it works out for you after launch.
Chloro··on Ask HN: Is Java worth learning?
Looks like some people are in denial :P
Chloro··on Ask HN: Is Java worth learning?
Go will eventually take over the space Java currently occupies, so I would go that route. Java's days are numbered.
Chloro··on DevDocs API Documentation
Did you Enable it?
Chloro··on Dear Amazon, We Picked Your New Headquarters for You
Portland would win if it wasnt so close to Seattle
Chloro··on Facebook recruiting and Unix systems
At least this recruiter wont be as dumb moving forward. It's important as a recruiter to understand what the hell it is you are looking for in a candidate. I personally thought the applicant handled this perfectly.
Chloro··on Ask HN: Do other fields have their own HN?
http://www.lumberjacknews.com/

Looks like no

Chloro··on Google Has Dropped Google Instant Search
I loved this feature! This makes me sad. It really shouldn't be a big deal to let people enable it for their own accounts or to just disable it for mobile. I don't see the benefit of just getting rid of it completely.
Chloro··on Yes, Python Is Slow, and I Don’t Care
Go is just as fast, easy, and clean to write and is leagues faster.
Chloro··on Uber CLI
Yep!
Chloro··on Show HN: GitHub trending alternative that ranks repos by contribution rate
Agreed, quality over quantity. Plus there are plenty of excellent tools that aren't being actively developed but are still very popular.
