And personally, I'm fine with Google doing so when they're actually doing something for my benefit with it (like Now).
[0] Hangouts are luckily the VoIP of choice for most I work with
(I know it's a rotary phone. But it existed pre-emoji so renders most anywhere, where U+1F4F1 [📱] doesn't.)
(I'm unclear on how these are delivered within the network, seems to be SMS but I can't source that)
Amusingly, they always set the SSID to 'insight_wifi_XXXX' and their formula for WPA keys is `firstname[0] + lastname + housenumber`.

(Unrelated: their embedded Chromium seems to be hard-coded to Windows-like shortcuts; even in the address bar)
That said, barring an explicit definition of 'Internet service' in your service contract, it's commonly understood that requesting a page from example.com, all the data your ISP returns implicitly is sourced from example.com. Introducing your own content in between is therefore fraud, as you've mis-represented the origin of the content.
I believe the owner of an involved web server would have standing as well, not just the users.
Injecting or replacing ads in other people's content on the wire: 'knowingly and with intent to defraud', 'exceeds authorized access', 'furthers the intended fraud'
Ad revenue from doing so: 'obtains anything of value'
Forget copyright infringement: a case could be made that CFAA applies here.
Note it's not mentioned exactly which division of Samsung they're working with; they may want Servo for Tizen, their Smart TVs, to ensure it plays nice with Exynos, or none of the above.
[EDIT: the post explicitly mentions porting Rust and Servo to Android and ARM; which rather strongly suggests the mobile group. Interesting, as FirefoxOS and Tizen are more or less aimed at the same markets]
* the 5-minute wipe both hinders access to the owner's data and makes it unlikely the OS can be replaced with a malicious variant without being caught in the act
* the warning screens ensure the owner's aware they're in devmode
* Hiding the Ctrl-D bypass makes it appear the only option is recovery, you won't know about it unless you've enabled devmode yourself.

Pedantic note: you can tweak the font size for the SSH app from it's options ('right'-click the app, it's not exposed in the UI)
Presumably Musk is anticipating that most buyers will like the Model S enough to not sell it back; if reality lines up, Tesla comes out far ahead. If not, they're doomed, but this scheme would really only be accelerating their demise in that case.
