It's absolutely not. Waste is a solved problem, you bury it VERY deep using the same borehole technology currently used for fracking. And I think you grossly overestimate the amount of waste a nuclear plant generates.
I'll always remember when Leo Laporte and Kevin Rose were racing to see who would be the first person to 1M Twitter followers. Only for Britney Spears to join Twitter and demolish the follower counts.
He covers that further down in the tweets, near the end of the thread. He doesn't necessarily agree with the Reddit way of doing things, but it has interesting compromises wrt privacy.
Of course that would be impossible to differentiate, but adding it to the privacy policy is what Google requests. Adding it and still having it refused can absolutely be blamed on Google.
MiniDisc in an MO media. And I'm not sure about Japan, but judging from what came over to North America and the UK, writing to MD was SUPER popular. Though that might be because the major use case in export markets was as a more compact CD player/writer.
Kia Niro EV. It's basically just a car but with EV systems. I've owned one for 2 years now. The newer ones have slightly larger touchscreens for Android Auto/Apple Carplay but there's buttons for everything. The Hyundai Kona is basically the same thing but I don't have one to compare.
Because the goal of the assignment isn't to write code, it's to learn what code to write. If you're copy and pasting from someone else you're potentially skipping out on a lot of learning. Granted, good luck passing the exam with copy and paste, but I've seen someone do basically that for 5 years, don't know if they ever graduated but they were grinding it out.
My big issue is the backgrounding. I like watching a video while cooking, but I also need to use timers. Not having the video stop and re-orient itself to portrait while I quickly set or dismiss a timer is excellent. I also find the UI during live streams to be borderline unusable on mobile.
The functionality isn't really the same. Yes, you can export animations, but it's much more difficult to provide the same level of interactive game that Flash did.
Also a Canadian who was driving a 12 year old Mazda 6. Bought a Kia Niro EV in Sept 2020. Was maybe a bit premature but the charging network in Ontario at least is pretty decent. I've had a 30 amp charger installed at home, and I've managed to do Toronto->Ottawa->Toronto in a single day without much issue. The lack of government rebates is really annoying right now, but I don't think the demand is any less. There were only 3 Kia dealerships in Toronto dealing with EVs and they each brought in a single Niro EV per week. Made negotiating on price kind of hard (though not impossible).
That said, I'm with the other people, when your current car is no longer worth it, that's when the right time to get a new car is, and if your car usage lines up well with EVs, it's a great time to transition.
I mostly agree with this, though I will say that in games it's usually producers and product managers that decide on the bug fix vs new features balance. It's not uncommon to ship a game with hundreds of "known shippable" bugs.
That's really strange, I've got it set as the default in Firefox on 3 different computers (2 mac 1 windows) and it's stayed the default over several updates. I think something might be wrong with your computer?
I've interviewed there twice and I gave up on them twice because honestly it was about the same thing with no one knowing what they were doing and being EXTREMELY slow about everything else. In the space between my first screening and an email to schedule an interview day, I applied at another place, did 3 interviews and a coding test, negotiated an offer, accepted an offer, and quit my current job. It was absolutely wild.
I don't really have have any complaints, it's really easy to tell which tab is where and the mouseover makes it even clearer. Does it look better? Maybe. Does it function worse? No.
Same, Nebula/Curiosity Stream, plus YouTube and Crunchyroll (free tier) is more than enough to entertain me when I need it. I don't want to buy content by the "channel" and I'll do literally whatever I need to for it to stay that way.
If you're interested in this sort of thing, check out the TMDC or Text-Mode Demo Competition were it's the same idea but 80x50 text instead of textboxes. Hasn't really been run in a while, but it's a really fun exercise.
Java is yes, but the JVM runs other things and things like JRuby use the JVM bytecode for invoke_dynamic. There were a few things rewritten to use that bytecode from what I remember but it's been a while since I've worked in that area.
So what? I would argue that most companies don't live and die on their technical merit. I don't think that Toyota cares if they're using the latest JS framework or if their devs are 10% slower than the SV ideal. I for one struggle to think of a single company that is where it is only because of it's technical superiority, and not because they also knew how to sell that technology, how to talk about it, how to relate with people who should use it.
