Yes, the EU as a whole looks good...
It's when you peel away the EU flag and look at individual countries you see that some economies are in the gutter pretty much due to countries having vastly different needs.
Whats in say Germany's interests isn't in Italy/Greece's interest economically, economies are having crisis points constantly and continuous band aids instead of enacting policy that will fix it with a solid foundation.
I personally don't know whats needed to fix this, even Europe-wide economic policy is a hard sell because of the vastly different needs of individual countries within the union.
Something needs to happen, there's a generation of young people being left behind with unemployment/underemployment and their future is becoming more and more murky.
How do any of these lock you into a cloud service?
Everybody wants rights and nobody sane is against having rights when rights means their right the free speech, their right to a fair trial etc.
Could be a nice little loop if part of the creators of the AI that would accomplish this learned part of their craft from O'Reilly books.
It went to Court and went through the due process, that process hasn't prior to this case and it wont after this case and the constitution remains the same.
If you publish, you deal with the repercussions, whether positive or negative.
The only thing I dislike is that it takes a billionaire to help a millionaire financially to give the case a fair chance while the less wealthy are powerless and without aid to even start a similar battle.
Compared to the sole region ap-southeast-2 (for you) in AWS's case. (though it was a longer outage).
That being said, I 1000% agree that Google cloud platform's response to fix issues, postmortems and actions to make things right are top notch.
...Or you're not disclosing a interest in the company.
(Guessing they use the fastly private cdn or have some sort of deal with them considering the imgix branded cages on their blog).
But you have api management to sort out and versions to solve which api gateway can do fairly easily.
API gateway is connected to Cloudfront for low latency.
You can simply add a cache for your API.
You have analytics already setup up and ready to go.
Also other things like API keys, auth and cognito integration with other integrations etc that API gateway has.
You can deploy and maintain tens of lambda functions fairly easy, to get something similar you would either have to use some container service like ECS or Kubernetes so have to figure them out compared to just deploying your code with one of the frameworks out there for lambda.
Seems Gitlab are moving fairly fast (compared to competition) and going for that all in one ecosystem (If you want it) from SCM to deployment with the range of products they've introduced.
$3.50(cost per million calls)*15 = $52.50
Lambda is pretty cheap.
For example a 256 memory function running for 300ms being called 15,000,000 times would cost 21.77.
All together that's $74 a day for just lambda and API gateway without any extras (cache, bandwidth pricing etc).
Maybe more expensive that raw infrastructure but it's a pretty inconsequential amount of money per day for close to no ops.
