Fizz43··on GLM-Legal
They do run them from China, North Korea and Vietnam. The owners are often Chinese nationals.
Fizz43··on GLM-Legal
These Chinese companies use the data in ways that enable scamming of millions of people and businesses per year. The sheer amount of cybercrime that comes out of China and NK is crazy, its genuinely a threat to average people.
Fizz43··on 500B tokens later: Letting AI agents decompile a first-person shooter
the 80% is a meaningless AI generated % by the way.
Fizz43··on REA Reverse – Engineer Anything
why would that matter? That sounds like a problem between Adobe and the AI companies.
Fizz43··on We're working on a new RuneScape MMO
The Jagex of today is worse. For every good update there is a landslide of terrible balancing that erodes 100s of hours of progress. They have paved over so much of the game they cant really be called old school runescape. Sailing should never have been released.
Fizz43··on We're working on a new RuneScape MMO
Everything Jagex touches turns to shit. They are not good at creating. At best they are a steward for already created IP and the community provides that taste that makes it good.
Fizz43··on Amazon seeks to offload $8B of Nvidia chips to investors
Im sending my Muse AI Agent to go negotiate a deal
Fizz43··on Amazon seeks to offload $8B of Nvidia chips to investors
I wont buy 8B but I am interested in 1 at a reasonably cheap price.
Fizz43··on Qwen 3.8 Omni Flash
I understand you're talking about % of energy generation and its fine to highlight it but people here are talking as if % of energy generation means less coal emissions when its actually the complete opposite. There is almost no reason to care about % of energy generation by coal when they add the level of coal production that they've added over the past 15 years. CO2 output producted after 2010 is completely different to CO2 produced pre 1950. The difference is once the world started addressing climate change china went the complete opposite direction and because they can highlight a few stats people endless sweep for them as if they're actually doing something good. They have objectively destroyed the world.
Fizz43··on Qwen 3.8 Omni Flash
It only started dropping last year and by dropping you mean total % of energy generation because total coal energy production is still going up.
Fizz43··on Authenticity's Triumph
>Those of us who produce value by beautifying, improving, and mending our frayed world and those who seek to collect and hoard the fruits of our labor by fueling endless conflict as a means toward endless revenue.

Im getting so sick of this endless slopulism.

Fizz43··on Ask HN: What default model do you use and why?
You can make the same argument about China. They are producing so much Co2 its pushed the world past the point of no return. All the climate change policy in the world cant change anything because china took so long to begin addressing the issue. They started nearly a decade and a half later than they ought to. But yeah american datacenters are the problem here...

Fizz43··on Mom gets 6-month suspended sentence for letting 5-year-old walk to the pond
In NZ we call it the walking school bus.
Fizz43··on GPT-6 Astra
They are crime hotspots
Fizz43··on GPT-6 Astra
Its AGI when it can fit years of information in the context window.
Fizz43··on Hang on to Your Firefox
>When Google implement an anti-user feature, Mozilla have to begrudgingly implement it

Why would ladybird be any different? The developer is not anti corporate and is closer ideologically to Google than Mozilla.

Fizz43··on Hang on to Your Firefox
Passing tests and has abysmal performance on basic web features. Not to mention how many security issues are present. Its unserious to suggest it as an alternative at this stage. It make people think they dont have to support firefox because there is alternatives just around the corner.
Fizz43··on Hang on to Your Firefox
Nothing Firefox has done is remotely comparable to chrome.
Fizz43··on Hang on to Your Firefox
I treat firefox the same way I treat politics. If I am around people I know understand the importance of firefox and are commited to using it then we can talk about its problems. If I am around anyone else I wont say a bad word about firefox. Why would I say a negative thing about firefox to a google chrome user, any point they make is instantly undermined by their usage of google chrome. To sit there and talk badly about firefox just reinforces their resolve in choosing google chrome.

Plus I genuinely like firefox its a great browser and I dont feel bad telling people that its good.

Fizz43··on Mayor says 'large chunks' of Wellington council Deloitte report written by AI
Whats the point of paying for this report if they cant even be bothered to do it. Mistakes in a 425,000 government report are unacceptable. This is what we are basing years of policy off it needs to be rock solid information. In a sane world the NZ government would never contract them again.
Fizz43··on It takes 5 cloud services to hear my doorbell
That's a cool solution, im lazy and would just put a little sign asking to knock.
Fizz43··on Israel creates fake think tank in likely attempt to dupe AI chatbots
Because its not clear if "we" refers to isreal or the US or Gaza
Fizz43··on Israel creates fake think tank in likely attempt to dupe AI chatbots
I'm not sure what "we" or "our" is referring to here.
Fizz43··on Israel creates fake think tank in likely attempt to dupe AI chatbots
Not true. It will only happen if they lose the information war. During 2023/2024 Iran did this exact same thing flooding the internet and no one hates them infact it worked and people link and share and boost their articles.
Fizz43··on In Australia, a home battery boom has helped cut wholesale power prices
"but that’s socialism" is part of a socialist campaign to rebrand the more palatable liberal ideas as their own so they can get into power and enact their actual policies.
Fizz43··on HackEurope 2026: A short rant on AI and hackathons
Its kind of insulting how many people look at other industries and think they can "solve" the problems with their simple solution. As if the people in these industries havent been thinking about this problem for decades.
Fizz43··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
Firefox needs word of mouth to grow. It needs tech people and firefox users to talk positively about it. But all they do is nitpick and spread baseless FUD its no wonder users drop.

I always tell people firefox is amazing because it really is. It has cool features, it looks cool, its fast, the company behind it is awesome.

Fizz43··on In Australia, a home battery boom has helped cut wholesale power prices
none of this is remotely socialist
Fizz43··on Seedance 2.5
The masses wont be amplifying their own voices they will just be getting more propaganda.
