Gaishan··on Show HN: Capbase – Free and Open Source Crunchbase Pitchbook Alternative
Nice initiative. - Do you think the "Contribute data to gain 30 day access" approach creates a go-slow mentality to helping? Why not let users stack their contributions in one go rather than encouraging them to trickle it out every 30 days? - will it be a wiki style error correction that relies on fellow contributors?
Gaishan··on Ask HN: Is anyone charging extra their customers for credit card payments?
Starting from October, credit card surcharges are banned in Australia.

Gaishan··on AI systems out-persuade expert humans
"We therefore hypothesized that AI’s throughput advantage allows it to pack conversations with more fact-checkable claims than human persuaders can, and that this is what drives its persuasive edge.

This “fact-density” account predicts that (i) constraining AI should selectively reduce persuadees’ perception of AI’s informational contribution to the conversation rather than non-informational features such as empathy or enjoyment, and (ii) fact density should predict persuasive impact across human and AI conditions alike."

Gaishan··on Ask HN: How do you find a cofounder for a game?
One way would be to think of your game idea like a Cause that you believe in and want others to support. How would you promote and disseminate that to find fellow believers?

Talk about it and show what you're building. Those most engaged will be your short list to spend more time with and "date" to become a co-founder.

It's probably worth the effort to have a good idea around what the project needs in a cofounder too.

Have fun building!

Gaishan··on Metformin found to reduce organ aging in male monkeys
This was a highlight for me; "In a closer look at how the drug might help slow age-related brain decline, the researchers found that it activates cells that produce a protein called NRF2, which prior research has shown protects against cell damage during bouts of inflammation."

Gaishan··on Human brain cells implanted in rats prompt excitement – and concern
As I read this with a growing sense of discomfort; a little voice in my head kept saying "What could wrong, right?"

The understatement of their comment "There will be challenges." is great.
