Oh dear, someone forgot to read the article.
I tend to find good examples of data-driven blog posts on Gov.UK; GDS has done a lot to drive better decision-making with strong data. An example of that is the Input component they use [1] and the data behind the choice and issues with type=number [2].
On the making more money perspective, I can share an anecdote for you, when I was working with a large property portal in the UK, we had a few unstyled dropdowns hanging around the app for sort criteria etc. Simply replacing them with a styled dropdown (and dropdown list) resulted in a 60% uplift of using that sort. We made no functional changes, just styled it. And it wasn't good styling, we broke dropdowns (as many do) in the first iteration (we were testing the hypothesis that people didn't use it because it didn't look like it was our component / wasn't styled like the rest of the site) -- So yes, anecdotally, pretty can be more impactful and result in more clicks.

The true insightful discussion comes in the comments.
I assume they just aren't at the point where they have the ability or want to host the compute to offer up Llama as an option as opposed to OpenAI, Anthropic and Google who are all offering the model as a service.
Which uses the last 2 numbers of the flight number, and an alphabetical character. BA use this on a lot of transatlantic type flights where delays etc can be an issue.
What exactly does that mean, I'm reading it quite negatively, but the rest of this is positive, so I might be missing your true meaning.
But that's even more of a fun thing from them!
It's a fantastic hobby organisation, one filled with village politics and annoyances more than it needs to be.
But if you focus in on the sim and the scope, my opinion is there's no better hobby org focused on excellence in a collective.
Having pride means that I want to write code that others view as good code and won't look at in the future as a mad hatter's ramblings.
Of course it's always an issue if an engine does fail, but ETOPS as a certification is there to ensure that airplanes and pilots are not put under unreasonable amounts of stress or issue if and when an engine fails over-water.
That's gone now, and that's really sad.
It's a pleasant nice to have if it is waterproof.
It does not, we have various brackets that you fall into as your income rises.
- No income tax is paid on the first £12,500 of your earnings - 20% on everything between £12,500 and £50,000 - 40% on anything between £50,000 and £150,000 - 45% on anything over £150,000
The way that HMRC likes to figure it out is that you take the salary of the person in question, and then you take into account all of the above bracketing plus more little gotchas. And spread their tax over the course of the whole year as evenly as possible.
This gets more complex when you change jobs or get a new salary midway through the tax year and then payroll software has to account for that and try and even out all the payments for the rest of the year.
Hopefully that makes some sense!
