It stigmatizes inquiry, it's shorthand for 'heretic', pariah.

As I understand it the innovation is at the zoning level. In order to affect change you need to change all of these zoning laws, and the keyword is Form Based Code, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Form-based_code

Encouraging info from the wiki: The Cincinnati Form-Based Code adopted in 2013 is designed to be applied citywide in an incremental way, neighborhood by neighborhood. The code establishes transect zones and specifies standards for transects, building types, frontage types, walkable neighborhoods, and thoroughfares that can be adapted to each neighborhood.[4][5]

Invest in chip companies. AI requires a lot of computes.

Shouting "racism!" is a good way to shut down the discussion

Shouting "culture!" doesn't really work as well.

MK999··on What I Heard from Trump Supporters
Vaccines sometimes cause grave injury and the vaccine court pays out. Some people aren't so keen to press their luck.

MK999··on How the Anti-Vaxxers Are Winning
If you are injured by a vaccine you can't sue the manufacturer, you have to go though the Vaccine Court. Meanwhile the vaccines themselves can enumerate some hideous side effects.

MK999··on The Happy City and Our $20 Trillion Opportunity
I think people are already making a big impact by moving back to urban centers, increasing the demand for transit and housing. I'm astonished by the number of new developments going up in Minneapolis.
MK999··on Ask HN: If you could move anywhere for a tech job, where would you go?
One of the great cities of Europe, maybe Milan, (so many to choose from) because I love walk-able cities. Toronto is very walk-able, so I think you're already in a nice spot.

Counterpoint: Tel Aviv has an active tech economy despite a difficult immigration environment. You probably just need first world infrastructure, capital, and low levels of government corruption.
MK999··on Ask HN: What are some 'must watch' talks?
Does anyone have a link to the talk something along the lines of ~'the power of stupid ideas' -- the beginning was about this shop that petitioned the London bus authority to move the bus stop closer to this shop to create a virtual wall. I only saw half of it and I'd like to see the other half.
MK999··on Ask HN: What are the higest paying technologies which have remote opportunities?
