Nasrudith··on Serbia's Vucic concedes election defeat in historic win for student movement
I think that has been over since marketers got involved. Remember raw water trending? That is paying for the privilege of drinking non-potable water.
Nasrudith··on America has lost 200k of jobs in media, film and the arts. How much is AI?
You mean you preferred when people thought police brutality was fiction and UFOs were real?
Nasrudith··on America has lost 200k of jobs in media, film and the arts. How much is AI?
Where the fuck do you think retirement resources come from if not the market and its profit generation?
Nasrudith··on How the Fed Is Quietly Inflating the AI Bubble While Hiking Your Electric Bill
Eww... economically illiterate demagoguery under the guise of this is good/bad for 'ordinary people'. Maybe Matt would be happier if they used Erdogan's Monetary policy and the hyperinflation because he thinks the time opportunity cost should be zero.
Nasrudith··on Anthropic reported diary entry to police, woman faces felony charge
Forget the sleight of hand that is superintelligence. This shit is why lawyers need to be thrown out windows before it is too late.
Nasrudith··on I'm the AGI that's wiping out humanity
No, but the sheep are able to move on their own initiative instead of just in response to a prompt and can actually physically move objects. Don't count them out just yet.
Nasrudith··on Former German spy chief arrested for attempted treason
Are you really unironically claiming "Jews control the media" tropes as an 'everyone knows' fact? No, it isn't totally cool because you ran a find and replace with "Israel" first.

Oh wait. You're a Holocaust denier. So you are evil AND have vapor for brains.

Nasrudith··on LinkedIn Larpmaxxing
Have you tried applying for them? Because LinkedIn recruiters have brought me only disappointment - not even one interview.
Nasrudith··on 1 in 8 cancer cases worldwide are caused by infections, study finds
Which brings to mind a horrifying and inappropriate counterarguement to such twisted puritianical logic - who says she is consenting if she gets infected? Is it worth adding cancer to a rape victim?
Nasrudith··on What It's Like to Work in One of America's Data Centers
That sounds backwards to me. Fossil fuel use being the main issue is also mighty hypocritical for a society tarrifing cheap electric cars and solar panels.
Nasrudith··on Microsoft exec called AI scraping 'the largest theft of labor in human history'
And how has exproproation been working out for you? What is that? Massive poverty and nobody wants to trade with you?
Nasrudith··on Microsoft exec called AI scraping 'the largest theft of labor in human history'
Being anti-permission culture is not the same thing as bad faith. It is just rejecting your arguement as stating scale suddely changes the rules. Plus the whole argument based on supposed impact is missing the point like saying that free speech should be treated differently for being more impactful than anticipated with mass publication. Something throughly rejected.
Nasrudith··on Ex-FTC boss Khan: break out the handcuffs for AI CEOs, citing 1934 precedent
She isn't above demagoguery and bullshit slinging so I wouldn't treat her as infallible. Any more than the idiot with an axe to grind against Backdoor in a failed attempt to bolster a career.
Nasrudith··on There is NO realistic scenario where AI wipes out all of humanity
If the Commander In Chief is that gullible we are already doomed. Under that logic we should stop having babies in case selection results in a "superpersuader" capable of convincing the president to launch the nukes unbidden.
Nasrudith··on Microsoft says AI rival Anthropic could have 'disastrous impact' on humanity
Why has media literacy gotten so bad that people literally forget the concept of fiction versus non-fiction? Seriously, that is the level of small children and they are treating "read a story superficially similar" like it is a prophecy.
Nasrudith··on Everyone should slow down AI development except for me
The slowdown has to be one of the stupidest demands out there. When has technology arrived only when 'we are ready for it'. When has any prep-time when the writing was on the wall used to prepare for the future? Never. That is putting aside the coordination problem and ulterior motives that a call for a slowdown reads as "I am falling behind! Pause the race!".
Nasrudith··on Everyone should slow down AI development except for me
We can end world hunger but people would be way more mad if we did, on account of all the military action involved to conquer every non-compliant regiemes and the multiple quagmires created.
Nasrudith··on Google avoids a breakup of its ad tech business
And to what end does discouraging scaling in an industrial economy serve? Corporations don't grow huge for the fun of it.
Nasrudith··on As AI eats the web, the internet’s collective memory is disappearing
Spamming can be found by metadata and reports. There is no "this site is absolute crap" button for them to find useful feedback in searches.
Nasrudith··on As AI eats the web, the internet’s collective memory is disappearing
Ah it is amazing how crimes just materalize from nowhere from envy.
Nasrudith··on As AI eats the web, the internet’s collective memory is disappearing
Idée fixe that AI is axiomatically bad.
Nasrudith··on As AI eats the web, the internet’s collective memory is disappearing
To be frank that sounds batshit insane levels of spite. You were going to try to promote the general production of knowledge but now because you worry someone you dislike who you don't even know.might benefit from it you aren't?
Nasrudith··on What happens if an entire class of workers loses faith in their careers
Because you are talking about a cartoon version of a billionaire that doesn't exist outside your propaganda-addled head, doesn't have the power you imagine them to, nor the malice you ascribe to them.
Nasrudith··on Silicon Valley misreads science fiction and undermines democracy
Play devils advocate for a bit: of course they should model themselves after the villains! Villains get shit done and change the world, and use it to the fullest potential.

'Heroes' are the schmucks who get roped around and fail to make things better until the very end at best, and even then leave massive amounts of preventable harm.

If one sets out to change the world don't be a hero, be a villain. It is horrifying, sure but it is the logical conclusion.

Nasrudith··on Ransomware gangs skip the CEO, head straight for the 40-something IT manager
US consumers are more valuable which makes their data more valuable and therefore collected. It applies to other first world nations without robust enough data protections.
Nasrudith··on Taxi drivers rarely die of Alzheimer's
They got trained to said assumptions by bad sensationalist 'science journalism'. Remember how power lines caused brain damage in children? Not through the magnetic fields or anything like that, but the lowered property values.
Nasrudith··on The Dark Night of Mathematics
Also it is just plain transparent projection. I will point out only one ideology outright killed entire classes of people once they were considered 'no longer useful' and that wasn't capitalism, it was communism. And this "capitalists will kill you all if you don't rise up!" propaganda is crusty and old, back since the emergence of computers and the discipline of cybernetics in the classical sense of the word.
Nasrudith··on What happened to nerds?
A society that creates bullies and thinks they are right is the same one that big surprise, doesn't give a shit about you. But you're stupid enough to be a cheerleader to bullies out of envy so you deserve whatever you get from it.
Nasrudith··on What happened to nerds?
Talk about peak arrogance. Who the hell are you to think you get to be the one to decide who should have the key to society?
Nasrudith··on FCC wants to kill burner phones by forcing telecoms to get all customers' IDs
Not really, at least with current SOTA for ammunition. Reloading has long been a thing for high volume shooters.
