Good riddance.
I just celebrated my 9th wedding anniversary but my wife and I have been together for 15 years. She lost her mom to cancer a couple years ago so that’s been in the back of my mind, randomly freaking me out.
Just focusing on enjoying a day at a time.
I’ve mentioned in comments here and elsewhere that I wish I could’ve worked at Bell Labs or Xerox PARC…what a time that must’ve been. Alas. At least my side projects keep me busy; they don’t pay the bills yet but they’re the best chance I got to work on something meaningful and (eventually) get paid to do so.
this got downvoted, ofc because i know nothing.
It’s the StackOverflow effect. If you aren’t an expert you’re punished for having the audacity to ask questions.Even when starting Claude in dangerous mode, you still need to babysit it! Annoying.
Dodo aims to be a drop-in replacement.
Then there's Ende, my fork, and I ripped out Node compatibility, Deploy, KV, Jupyter, &c. https://ende.sh
LMAO, I'm sold.
I long to bring this back in a Miranda-IM way (super customizable), but other projects get in the way.
I don't care if only a handful of us (few milly) find it useful.
The DX of Deno far surpasses Node (or at least it did, idk if Node has caught up in that regard).
What are the big problems you see that still need solving that a future Deno (fork) could handle?
EDIT: Talking to people in the Discord and was reminded that the community may have been the inspiration. Adoption was low so boom, add Node compatibility and now adoption grows. MEH.
If I'm doing a fork, I'm removing Node.
If you’re tired of thinking, just say that. Don’t project your middling imagination onto others.
LMAO okay bro.
With Deno I get TypeScript by default, security, a package manager that isn't riddled with nonsense and a dated UI, and I can compile my APIs to a single executable. No way am I going back to Node but then again, this ain't my blog post.
The industry defaults are trash but it is what it is.
The funny things is, I'm actively working on a replacement for Github but it's not gonna be built on Cloudflare LMAO!
It's not gonna be ready by CLoudflare's deadline but I'm aiming to get the beta deployed by end of November. Plenty to do! It'll be available on eol.sh...
