NotGMan··on SDL's Claude.md
Great way to ensure your project not ever being used in any serious venture.

Code can be Art, just don't complain when people don't use it for real projects.

NotGMan··on AI: EU Member States approve "digital expropriation" for AI companies
The entire GDPR is clownish anyway, alongside cookie banners.

Everything should just be trashed, your personal data is everywhere already, it's the price of using social media.

NotGMan··on New AI Is More Than Twice as Good at Diagnosing Diseases as Doctors
Often doctors miss rare diseases and gaslight patients that they don't have them.

AI is great for this since it has encyclopedic knowledge.

NotGMan··on Jared Kushner Hacked Phone Reveals Secret Negotiations, Millions in Transactions
Yes because the EU countries really love the truth.

See: reasons for Ukraine war and immigration gaslighting, Paris.

NotGMan··on 'AI' Is Not a Tool by Rich Hickey
Oh god these word games... no wander some people get nothing done.
NotGMan··on “Math 2.0” will need to value mathematical progress more holistically
Where was Terence Tao where other workers were being replaced by immigrants, robots and other automation?

Academics and white collars now get to experience what blue collar workers experienced in the past.

Same as what developers in USA experienced who were and are getting replaced by Indians.

NotGMan··on AI tutoring with Khanmigo in a two-year school experiment
Author conflates "why do kids want to learn in the first place" with "chatbots only teach mechanisms".

All public and most private schools already only teach mechanisms.

With chatbots you can at least ask it a hundrer times to explain something if you don't get it, you can't do that with teachers, most of whom just rattle about their curricilum.

NotGMan··on The technology to eradicate mosquito-borne disease exists
Midwit article.

People like the author actually belive that there is no chance of real world interactions happening.

Eg what is the bacteria jumps to some other organism? What if it mutates? What if the birds eat the mosquitoes and carry a mutated bacteria elsewhere?

There is a reason why you need autistic level safety for such projects, and even then things like this might happen.

It's completely impossible to guarantee theses things, no matter how long you study it in a lab.

Some people just aren't capable of thinking more than 1 step ahead.

NotGMan··on What's the future for pure math research in the age of AI?
Okay, now, when AI and robots can do surgeries and advise people better than modern doctors do (the bar is not that high, ask anyone with an autoimmune disease or gut issues)...
NotGMan··on How Singapore's government-run dating service works
>> The truth is that we don’t really know what exactly makes love work, such that we can articulate and implement it on a societal scale. It’s too messy, too complex, too idiosyncratic, and too human. Anyone who claims otherwise probably has a course to sell you on negging and pickup artistry.

The author, who is a gay man, obviously didn't study any pickup material since if he would he'd realize how wrong he is. If he'd study pickup material and the surrounding works he'd realize that what women write in these preferences is completely meaningless so his example of meeting a guy as a guy on this website is completely useless for men meeting women, since women do not work like that.

All of these algorithmic matching will become totaly useless and wrong depending on the behaviour of the male. In a completely mismatched pair the women will fawn over the guy if his behaviour is congruent with what attracts females. And even on a complete match the women will run away in panic if the guy is a total tool sexual-behaviour-wise to what (dis)attracts women.

Also: nothing will solve marriage problem as long as women are in the workforce.

Look up books by Rollo Tomassi, he has a blog and has written on these topics if you are one of those "citation needed" people.

NotGMan··on First Principles Thinking
I've been of similar opinion but since Opus it is there, here and right now.
NotGMan··on Gender, Identity, and Power in the Shaft Tombs of Western Mesoamerica
"All kneel before the god of biomechanics, by sword or by surrender."

- Roissy

NotGMan··on First Principles Thinking
Why would you care about architecture? It was an issue when humans were writing code so architecture mattered in the sense that you needed a sweet spot between current requirements and future extensions.

The agent can rewrite half your codebase in one day, so architecture stops mattering for the most part.

NotGMan··on The truth and the lies about Islam in Europe
>> Europe faces no Islamic takeover, no mass radicalisation of Muslims and no erasure of its culture.

Obviously is does. Muslims have such a higher birth rate they they will be a majority soon. How is that not take-over?

>> Half of the 12 council wards in Blackburn, in northern England, are over 60% Muslim; two are over 80%. In such areas women can feel pressure to let sharia councils govern their family lives.

Wait didn't this article said there is no take-over a paragraph or two before?

>> And the populist right often whips up fear by claiming that all Muslims pose a threat and accusing the state of a “woke cover-up” and “two-tier treatment”.

Well if Muslims can do things in the name of religion why are white people and Christians prosecuted for doing the same?

>> That is why Europe’s mainstream politicians need to offer an alternative.

No thanks, we have seen it doesn't work. Mainstream politicians by definition cannot give an alternative.

People are tribal. Muslims vote for Muslims.

Lee Kuan Yew showed that in a multiracial, multiethnic country you cannot even have a jury of your peers since people are so tribal.

It will be funny watching feminists trying to square a circle by still somehow defending Muslims, who want nothing more than getting rid of women rights.

NotGMan··on FDA authorizes first wearable device that monitors ketone and blood sugar levels
It's sad that this comment is downvoted.

If root cause could be identified people wouldn't need insulin pumps and other complications anymore at all...

But this is what you get with modern midwits running around everywhere....

NotGMan··on The Future Belongs to the Weird
What we call "normal" is the historical convergence to behaviour that allows a civilization to thrive and survive long term.

Change that and the weirdos will create a society that will die out.

See: modern liberal society and feminisim which leads to population collapse and destruction of the civilizations that embrace it.

NotGMan··on EA staff fear new Saudi Arabia owners will police their games
>> "It's certainly hard to feel good about being bought out by a regime that's very much at odds with progressive society"

Perhaps this uber progressive society we live in is, in fact, not such a great one long term civilization-wise?

TLDR is that it's activists in video game companies that will be complaining, not gamers, you know, that actual customers.

NotGMan··on Universal health coverage could save $1T and 114k lives a year: study
At this point I'm 90% convinced that any kind of a healthcare system will work as long as the politicans and everyone involved is not corrupt.

Alas...

The real question is then: since corruption seems to be everywhere, which system is the most resistant to it in terms of the price + quality for the end user.

And the real real question is: what can be done so that every country has a political class that has the same strict rules of law for corruption etc... as Singapore does?

NotGMan··on Universal health coverage could save $1T and 114k lives a year: study
In other EU countries it's the same or even worse: you just pay it as a part of gross and gross-gross taxes.
NotGMan··on AI Generated 3D Models Flood Market, but Almost No One Is Buying Them
The reason nobody is buying them is that if everyone can generate them on their own, exactly as you require as per your project specs, why would you buy it online?

You know much better what kind of a model to generate and you pay 3$ for many variations.

NotGMan··on German court rules AI music firm Suno broke copyright rules
Basicaly this will happen:

1) Germany bans SUNO.

2) German companies will be forced to use expensive audio/musicians + longer iteration times.

3) USA, Chinese, Indian etc... companies will use SUNO.

4) Germany companies won't be able to compete and will fold.

5) Major job loss in Germany.

6) EU politicians will, as always, misdiagnose the problem and say that "Europenas need to work more".

7) EU will create more stupid laws.

8) Go to 1)

NotGMan··on Man seeks millions after being shot by police in game-related swatting incident

NotGMan··on So, you want to make a game engine (2023)
95% of the code will be the engine code. The game the other 5%.
NotGMan··on Teaching Kids Forth
OP is speedrunning how to make kids hate programming.

This language is simple unintuitive and the Polish math notation will cause even more confusion.

>> Overall, I don't believe the programming language matters all too much.

Delusional. There is a reason why 99.99% of large projects are done in imperative languages.

I like programming a lot but if my programming journey were started by this teacher and might just became a chef instead.

This seems to be a "do novel things for novelty sake" thing.

Kids need to see the practical applications in the simples and most intuitive way of the things they are learning.

Forth or similar languages are not it.

Even in university level students these languages are both confusing and unintuitive and slow to develop in compared to imperative languages.

NotGMan··on Codeberg Bans Cryptocurrency Projects
The problem with imposing ethics is that, in the future, they might change their views or mark other political problems as verboten.

No serious business or open source project can be built or such shifting sands.

NotGMan··on Firefox Is Back on X
"We are only willing to stand for our principles as long as it costs us nothing."
NotGMan··on EU loosens carbon market rules to let industry pollute for longer
CO2 emission reduction will come with new technology inventions that will be adopted worldwide.

There will be no EU if all of its industry dies while China and India pollute over 9000 indiscriminately and win all the markets.

NotGMan··on Prioritize mental health, and why communication is so important
I'm at this point fully convinced that 90%+ of people with depression have either a metabolic disfunction, gut issues, heavy metal poisoning or some other occult infection or a problem.

So it's not really mental, it's literally a disease of the physical body. The brains are then affected as a side effect.

You can look up low carb, carnivore, heavy metal elimination groups etc... and you will find thousands of real testimonials.

The problem is that many if not most of these are hard if not impossible to diagnose since the modern medical science is lacking completely at this plus the combination of arrogant doctors not taking these people seriously and gaslighting them makes it 10 times worse, so experimentation is needed and then a commitment for a year or two.

Many improve in 4 to 6 months. Some take longer.

NotGMan··on Bryan Johnson: The world wants me to die
Johnson lost the plot.

Initially he was interesting but it soon became obvious that both he and his team were too stupid to realize that just because you measure X in the body that doesn't mean that you are doing better or worse. We don't have tech that would tell us the long term or global effects in the body so measuring one things out of a billion can be useless when doing microoptimizations like he is.

He also claims he wishes to be the 1st to heal an autoimmune disease which is hilarious since he and his team again failed to do even basic research to see that many people in the carnivore and low carb community were able to do so already more than a decade ago.

It's either this or he really is just into marketing and business since he sells now all of his supplements.
