If you can't tell whether your disconnected TV is spying on you but you know that you cannot trust it, it's better to treat it as compromised.
Unfortunately, eventually one of the people selected for being less capable get to be at the top and continue the whole play again, getting rid of anyone that is not less capable than themselves.
This is one disadvantage democracies have over monarchies, for a king can surround himself with more capable people all he wants as they are not direct competitors.
If you want to retroactively attribute the term to things, you'd also have to add it to newspapers featuring reader's letters. But that's not what social media is.
We made all of this work before phones even existed. Getting your attention siphoned away by your phone isn't a convenience, it's an unhealthy dependence.
Sounds great.

Never used social media, my phone only gets internet via a cable connection and I only use GUI where the CLI isn't capable enough, like a web browser.
Not sure what I was expecting. It's great advice, but kinda preaching to the choir.

I voted to permanently abolish daylight saving time/summer time and am very unhappy that it isn't gone already.
Or, we could skip the meeting. I won't mind.
There used to be a system in my country where there were large doctor offices and you didn't really have your doctor, as you had your clinic. (I'm not talking hospital, but doctor's office.)
It was staffed around the day. Each doctor had a work life balance and you could come in whenever. I'm pretty sure this approach works for most service professions.
School can be transitioned to be purely online. Watch video lectures when you want and take online tests regularly. There is really no point to lock all kids up at school for hours each day if the goal is merely to teach them. People leave school illiterate these days, so it's not like it could get any worse.
Search engines no longer surfacing useful results didn't help the web in general. Outside of a handful of sites everyone knows the Internet seems to have become a ghost town over the past decade.
The trick is to delete your browser cache (not just things related to reddit, everything), then wait a week to a month before creating the next account.
