Orygin··on Cross-request KV cache exposure in the GLM-5.3 Workers AI model (155 responses)
I wonder if the chatgpt shirtless guy is from the same kind of issue
Orygin··on France asked ISPs to prepare temporary DNS blocks for major social platforms
Because bad neighborhoods are most generally seen as the HLM banlieue where most are not "white". It's a pretty obvious dog whistle from the RN.
Orygin··on Meta Ignores Brazilian Court Order to End Bolsonaro Favoritism
I have multiple examples of "neutral" content being invaded by Israeli propaganda, and Facebook even admits they will only show "select comments" and won't allow you to see any other. Even sub comments won't show all responses but only pro Israeli. It's pretty clear that Meta favors these, and it's not just because of external actors trying to influence.

There is evidence here of influence on the Brazilian elections. They were working with Cambridge Analytics to influence British elections.

There has been multiple whistleblowers saying they are offering political favors. There as studies showing they do indeed prefer certain parties.

How long can we keep our heads in the sand? When will it be enough

Orygin··on France asked ISPs to prepare temporary DNS blocks for major social platforms
Yes, they spy on you to see if you pirate movies, so most users already use a VPN to download their pirated medias. Thanks to Hadopi, the french already know how to bypass censorship and surveillance
Orygin··on France asked ISPs to prepare temporary DNS blocks for major social platforms
Great for you but that's not how it works in France. They have been revolting on and off for decades/centuries, and the government know how to stifle it.

The police gas and break up most peaceful protests until there is no avenue left but to clash with the police. They regularly attack, maim, and kill people (either protesters or even bystanders, like the woman who was watching from her window and was targeted by a police explosive (confirmed not an accident but intentional police violence))

Agents provocateur instigate violence and looting, but the police never interrupt them like they do the peaceful kids. The images of riots play directly into the media and government hand who play the law and order angle. As evidenced by these news which only see it as rioting and not the government preventing any kind of protest.

They are using the unrest to try and ban the most popular leftist party in France. They are destroying what's left of democracy in the country.

Orygin··on France asked ISPs to prepare temporary DNS blocks for major social platforms
Do you have any evidence of this? Apart from your racism ofc. Because we have evidence of the police doing and instigating the destruction
Orygin··on France asked ISPs to prepare temporary DNS blocks for major social platforms
There are multiple videos from France showing undercover police instigating and breaking things.

Then, the government is pushing cities to denounce the most popular Left party as the instigator of the riots.

They are preparing to ban them next elections for this. It's pretty clear it's all a political maneuver to ensure it's once again Macron's party versus Marine's far right party, hoping it ensures their win against her

Orygin··on Root shell on Samsung TV
Expensive TV also spy on you, so spending more does not help
Orygin··on Meta Ignores Brazilian Court Order to End Bolsonaro Favoritism
The manipulation is not in the algorithm but in the controls the algo offers, either to the company or to financial friends of the company. It's pretty blatant the way Meta is pushing far right politics everywhere in Europe, pushing pro Israeli propaganda while silencing opposing opinions.

It's not a secret that Meta is selling political preferences on its platform, as they have been for decades. Several Meta employee have blown the whistle about it already.

Orygin··on Danish Government silently drops plan to dump MS Office
If even a tenth of all government licence fees went to improve open source alternatives, they would surpass Microsoft within a year. And every human on earth would benefit.

Instead we're being extorted by Microsoft for buggy software

Orygin··on Danish Government silently drops plan to dump MS Office
Good luck with MS support when things go wrong. Your ticket will bounce between 7 different engineering services which will try their basic debug script before tossing you to another department, all after calling you at 4am.

Also, MS doesn't care anymore since they have the monopoly. Things go wrong? Tough shit you won't migrate somewhere else anyway, and will continue to spend millions for licences.

Orygin··on Danish Government silently drops plan to dump MS Office
Yeah you're absolutely right, pretty sure the bribes have nothing to do with it and it's because open source is worse. /s
Orygin··on Danish Government silently drops plan to dump MS Office
Will come the day Microsoft stops bribing politicians to stay on MS Office and Windows.

Unfortunately, most streamers don't have the best IT security knowledge, and with AI tools now allowing them more and more than what was previously possible, it also opens the door for more vibe coded apps that could have serious security holes.

Should the streamers' apps be more secure? Absolutely, but the underlying tool should also strive to be secure enough for all use cases.

Anyway, thanks for the two links, they were interesting reads.

Orygin··on Ofcom concedes defeat in 4chan case
Didn't Ofcom send multiple threat letters to 4chan, requesting they comply with UK laws? That counts as trying to enforce it
Orygin··on Ofcom concedes defeat in 4chan case
They already track everything going through the undersea cables, why couldn't they start blocking at those points?
Orygin··on Plex vulnerabilities being exploited in the wild to drop a cryptominer
What get me the most, are the rabid Plex fanbois swearing that having jellyfin open on the internet is such a baaaad idea and you should spend ~50~ ~100~ 500 bucks for a sub to Plex which totally don't expose the same risk
Orygin··on Xbox goes down. You can't play games you own on disc
There are DLLs that remove any check of Steam running. Just keep a copy of one and use that on other games.

Regarding the download, it's the same issue with physical media. If I don't have the DVD, how can I acquire the game?

Orygin··on Mini retirements: like a sabbatical, but much smaller
It is, the article tries to dodge the question saying they can't take long enough vacations, but that's an US centric problem.
Orygin··on Sam Altman says people don't want an AI to act as CEO
For all its faults, AI is still not sociopathic enough to be CEO
Orygin··on I regret migrating to Codeberg
Had they limited CI/CD depending on the project "community" (whatever that means), that would be a reasonable take. Instead they ban something tangential to the discussion.

I can publish human slop and use loads of their resources without any LLM use.

Orygin··on Judge approves $1.5B Anthropic settlement for pirated books used to train Claude
Maybe but your brain is not running 24/7 capable of outputting thousand if not millions of tokens per hour, all while having ingested nearly the entire internet.

If yours do that, maybe we can redefine what copyrighting and patenting means for humans

Orygin··on Intel Starts Shipping High-NA EUV Silicon
Gotta start somewhere. Plus foxconn only abandoned 1 DC build out during Covid, a bit different from TSMC investing billions to build multiple, of which they already built 1.
Orygin··on Intel Starts Shipping High-NA EUV Silicon
They are built, at least one in Phoenix:

> As of 2025, the first fab has been completed and is producing four-nanometer (nm) chips.

You indeed need to pay someone if you take their copyrighted materials and regurgitate it. Ask DJ's and producers how they need to include royalties for samples used in their tracks.
Orygin··on Codeberg bans vibe coded projects
It's reasonable not to assume what they meant. They have a clear stance on the subject instead of letting us guess
Orygin··on Zig Creator Calls Spade a Spade, Anthropic Blows Smoke
> Did anyone interpret that as the team insulting TypeScript itself?

No because Go and Typescript have wildly different use cases, and they explained in details the rationale for migrating the compiler, and why Go versus Rust. Their rationale makes sense, and did not throw Typescript under the bus (obviously).

Orygin··on Zig Creator Calls Spade a Spade, Anthropic Blows Smoke
> If the project accepted AI-assisted contributions, this controversy might never have happened.

Had I given my wallet to the thief, this controversy (me getting stabbed) might never have happened.

This 100% was a way to getting back at Zig for not allowing their parent company's product, and a marketing move for Fable.
